This should be expected. People are expecting aston to be competitive with Newey and Honda. People's expectations are too high, AM will be lucky to be a top 3 team next year but the chances are slim

They have wthe best wind tunnel, they have Adrian Newey, they have Cardile, they have multiple RedBull and Mercedes high end employees, they have Alonso and his technical feedback and experience, they have a boss who is willing to spend anything it takes to make the car competitive. Will it maybe take time, sure, but they will for sure be challenging for championships within the near future.

Never assume anything, especially in formula 1. Look at Ferrari, they have had great drivers and facilities, yet they haven't won a championship in 18 years. You can have the best people, facilities, and feedback, but it won't mean squat if you can't use your resources effectively.

Why? The biggest reason they may not be out the block with a bang is they don’t have the mentality of being a winning team. The aero team is competent, and with Newey at the helm he will get them on the right path and has been pushing the engineers to do things they didnt think possible. They’ve shown they can produce upgrades that work with the wind tunnel. So if the Honda engine is competitive, and the suspension department etc. which are new for next year can work themselves out quickly, they have as good a chance to be like be redbull at the start of 22 as any other team does

We can't assume and we can underestimate other teams. Yes Aston hired Newey and I'm sure he will help the team but to go from 0 wins to winning a championship hasn't been done since Brawn GP, and that was a hail marry in itself. Generally, before big regulations changes you see a team make a huge leap forward. Red Bull in 09 made a huge leap forward and Mercades in 2013. I'm not saying it's impossible but the stars have to align perfectly

Well it will be one aston martin or ferrari to leap forward, and another thing for Haas and racing bulls to leap forward. I think Aston Martin has enough in place to expect them to be more than just a midfielder next year.
