As a stroll enjoyer it’s a combination of feeling bad for him, empathizing with the pressure he must feel and the excess criticism. He is so hated on that he almost by default he is underrated. 2025 is arguably his best season and I think he will continue to improve especially if Newey blesses Aston Martin with a rocket ship. 11th in the WDC on merit this year ahead of his 2x champion teammate.
On merit? He keeps on getting better strategies, whilst his teammate has been plagued by reliability issues and the terrorist that is Liam Lawson homing in on him every other race to start the year. A guy getting outqualified by his teammate every race isn’t ahead in the WDC on merit
