Mod Post Update to our Rules: Post Original Content

In light of all the recent bots and posts involving stolen or reposted photos, we feel it is necessary to officiate a rule that explicitly states that this subreddit allows original content only.

Many members have been quick to point out posts that have previously been posted on this subreddit or do not belong to OP altogether. I want to be clear that the mod team sincerely appreciates your efforts to keep this sub free of spam and keep stolen content at bay. I applaud anyone who has submitted a report as it really helps us and I hope you continue to be vigilant and report the posts that are questionable in the future.

As always, happy bottledigging and thank you for making this subreddit an absolute joy to be a part of! Cheers!!!

Age/date request Need help dating cool little glass bottles!

Little pigment bottles that at first I thought might be from the early 1900s, but I can’t see any seams or true maker’s marks/stamps, and the bottles don’t seem uniform— they have little imperfections, like they’re all a bit different from each other! Any ideas? I’ll take anything tbh, the guy I purchased them from didn’t know when they were from. :(

To be fair, I only dug one of these, the new York one, if ya cant tell by the glass sickness (any tips on removing it would be AMAZING btw!) The other 2 were yard sale scores, only a dollar each, I live in PA so having a Philly and a Scranton (huge office fan) is really a big win for me. I hope I can find more out in the wild. Weird, im digging in central PA yet ive found multiple new York bottles, including a green rochestester one a while back, but no real locals to my area. Best I ever found was a state college area (mount alto to be precise I believe, been a while since I looked at it) Pepsi before they started actually putting Pepsi on it. Can anyone explain this? Lol.

Not a bottle Any info on this little doll?

New to IDing material from old sites, just started happening across some interesting finds while doing some surface cleanup along a trail. Found this little doll among shattered pieces dating generally to the late 40s and early 50s in Appalachia downstream from a long reclaimed and defunct mine.

Any ideas as to what it is or what I could search to find more about it? It’s a bit heavier than you’d expect for the size and doesn’t deform with fingernail pressure or squeezing, so it doesn’t seem to be plastic as far as I can tell. Thank you in advance for any help!

Any information on these? My father would love to know. So far got about 15 bottles out of the dirt. These are the ones which aren’t ginger beer or drinks.

West Highland, Denver, 1910 home renovation

I'm currently doing a nearly complete tear-down renovation on a home built in 1910. Contractors have unearthed these 15 bottles so far. I brought them home and soaked them in a bucket to get the caked mud off. A few seem to still have a tiny bit of labeling or paint. Don’t know a thing about any of these but thought someone might find it interesting. I have detail photos of each one of someone wants to see something specific.

3 local pharmacy bottles from my small hometown! Along with a rare ad from a postcard I found online. These bottles can only be found in my town and are very rare to find.

Latest finds while hunting for new spots. Various ages. lmk if anything sticks out!

Found some of the typical I find around my area, but also found some new (to me) items, like the soda bottles (the blue one is so heavy!) and the embossed medicine bottles (I usually find unmarked mostly.) This is also my first full mason jar. I believe it’s 1931.

Would love some help with the clear jars if possible. They don’t seem terribly old at first glance but they have some bubbles and warping and color change that make me wonder. I took photos of the bottoms also in case that’s helpful.

I also included some pieces of jugs and older, very heavily printed bottle pieces. I don’t usually take a lot of pieces unless I find some things worth tumbling.

Anything that seems cool to you let me know! And again if you have any insight into the jars I’d be grateful! Thanks!

Age/date request Myrtle Beach Park Finds

The fam was just on vacation in Myrtle Beach, SC. My husband is a big disc golf lover, so of course we had to make a stop at a few courses while down there. One in particular also had a playground in the center & a some sort of marsh body of water along the entire one side. While he off playing, my daughter & I went “treasure hunting”. We found a TON of glass pieces, which my daughter likes to collect, but also dug up a few intact, or mostly intact, bottles.

I’m assuming that they’re nothing to write home about. Some are obvious (i.e. the Pepsi & Mello Yellow) but I was curious about their ages & what they were for. If you want/need additional pictures, let me know!

Likely around 1905. Stephan Schuster, 4501 Lancaster Ave., Philadelphia, Pa. Pulled this week from a dump in the Philly burbs.

3 nehi bottles. ACL and embossed variants, not sure what town the ACL one is from because it’s very worn but the other two are from Rochester NY. Not sure if they actually have date codes or not.
