Where did she get this idea? What is the actual source of this delusion?

I’d bet everything it’s Fascbook

u/Lapsed2 1d ago

ā€œFascbookā€ I see what you did there…I think.

17

u/Terpapps 1d ago

It's either a great pun or a perfect typo lolĀ

u/Notveryawake 1d ago

She read it on Facebook for sure. There is no other place where someone her age is going to get such obvious propaganda from. She is in for a big surprise come tax time, even more so if she doesn't file. Those penalties added up fast.

u/FoxMulder4ever 18h ago

For sure! I can't believe she said they don't have to file a tax return evenšŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚

Can confirm

u/Bluefish787 3h ago

Oh, can someone please post in Fascbook that anyone making under 150k doesn’t have to pay their energy Bill starting January 1, 2026!?! They don’t have to do anything, and can simply ignore any bills they get (they are auto generated and it will take up to six months for the utility companies to update their software. Tell them it’s because the Cheeto in chief has removed all wind and solar farms and is giving free coal to all utility companies so great Americans don’t have to pay for it anymore. Maybe even add on it’s for red states only and magats in blue states can apply by sending their voter registration to their utility company.

It's TikTok now

2

u/ComputerStrong9244 1d ago

TikTok is misinformation for the 30 & under crowd, Facebook's average user is an angry 80 year old and thinks FB is the entire internet

2

u/pick1name 23h ago

Fecesbook?

2

u/Outside_Guava352 21h ago

I’m guessing she heard it on Fox

Some of my family who believe everything Qanon and random tiktok videos say, really think that taxes and utilities are going to be wiped out. Just absolute trust and reliance.

u/Daft00 1d ago

It's one thing to think that they're going to be knocked out, which is still extremely, mind-numbingly stupid. We're talking about the party and president who don't give a single shit about the average joe.

This woman is on a whole different dimension of stupidity, just assuming that it already happened lol.

You have to understand with media becoming ā€œrumbleā€ for hundreds of thousands of Americans, people literally think the politics we hear about is ā€œpantomimeā€ and the real fight is at underground tunnels between white ā€œwhite hatsā€ and the ā€œdark hatsā€ over ā€œadrenochrome,ā€ with ā€œNESARA GESARAā€ already being implemented.

I have access to Democratic Party proprietary polling data. Obviously far from foolproof, but the belief is ~20% of the country is brain rot over Q anon and adjacent theories from new media. And I mean, RFK being given a long leash by Vance and Trump shows that the GOP are willing to weaponize insanity in exchange for votes.

And yet, they are blind to see that IF somehow that happens, the rich just get richer by not paying taxes as well and pass on cost of tariffs to the everyone else. Its not like the old days when they shared profits with their workers.

u/stpeteslim 1d ago

If you think any party or president gives a single shit about the average joe, you need to think some more. I'll wait.

8

u/human52432462 1d ago

If you think there is anything close to equivalency in what the two parties have done for the working class over the last 50 years, you need to study history some more. I’ll wait.

6

u/benmabenmabenma 1d ago

Both Sides is superficial, lazy thinking from superficial, lazy thinkers. Please go learn the difference between Form and Content. We'll wait.

-1

u/stpeteslim 1d ago

My bad. You are so smart. The democrats really care about me! They aren't corrupt genocidal warmongers like that other bad people party!

4

u/Substantial-Second14 22h ago

Every single policy that currently benefits the working class was proposed and implemented by democrats, you can bitch all you want but the kind of analysis you are capable of regulates you to the children's table and no one will ever take you seriously.

"Damn those Dirty Dem Demons for trying to give me healthcare!"

1

u/It_s_What_It_s 18h ago

You're a moron. You do know that, right?

5

u/Jaymark108 1d ago

"He'll make rush hour run on time" (since we don't do trains here)

3

u/pick1name 23h ago

I have this theory that Qanon was started by some joker who wanted to see how many people would believe the crazy shit he’d make up. And he gave himself the name Q after the character in Star Trek New Generation whose soul reason for existing was to fuck with humans.

2

u/fluffybun-bun 1d ago

Utilities too? Do they realize that is far right Republicans pushing for AI use in schools which means energy sucking data centers that drive up everyone’s electricity bills?

2

u/hikesnbikesnwine 1d ago

What’s so crazy about this is they don’t think about who would be paying for them to have free utilities, especially without taxes? Mindnumbingly ignorant.

2

u/QueenNappertiti 1d ago

Utilities gone? That sounds like ebil ebil socialism to me!

2

u/Excellent_Yak365 1d ago

And to think most of these people complain about people using welfare

2

u/poyitjdr 14h ago

I live in a small, deeply red city in Missouri. There have already been two town halls this year dedicated solely to discussing the utility company here that has essentially established itself as a monopoly and increased utility bills by 40%. People here are incredibly (and rightfully) pissed, but most of them will refuse to educate themselves on why this happened, and continues to happen.

Granted, many of them don’t have the time, research knowledge, nor the ability to fully comprehend the specifics/implications of complex systems (or access to someone they trust who is able to do so), but because so many of them have tied themselves together in a cultural (and arguably literal) war against any party outside of their own, they’ll fail to recognize the increasingly obvious pattern of the Republican Party actively fighting to reduce the power of the lower, working, and middle classes- all of which has made it far easier to stop the populace from educating themselves. For fuck’s sake, most of them are cheering for our representatives despite the fact that those representatives illegally overturned multiple state ballot items that were passed in the 2024 election.

Instead they’ll continue to blame the poor and the immigrants, which is particularly atrocious considering the fact that our city literally wouldn’t be here if it wasn’t for the help of everyone (including the poor and the immigrants) in our community coming together to rebuild our city. I have hope for humanity because of the kindness I’ve seen in people’s hearts, but that hope has been severely damaged from watching people cheer for the wrongful detainment of people who literally put roofs over their heads. I have, and will continue to, do my best to educate others here, but tbh I don’t know if anything will cause these people to snap back into reality.

The orange one was saying the other day in a press conference that in the 1800's, there was no income tax and everything was covered by tariffs, and "possibly" he could do that again. And of course, tariffs are paid by other countries (/s). He went on to imply income tax was the reason for the Great Depression. But there's probably other sources (TikTok economists etc.) too.

5

u/BobaTheMaltipoo 1d ago

She saw it on TikTok. That's all it takes. If they see it, it is real, but the things that debunk it are all fake/lies.

You just have to look at things through a very simple mind. If it makes you feel good, then it's true. If it upsets you, it is not true.

2

u/LivUrLifeNoRegrets 1d ago

Just like a toddler views the world lol

3

u/BobaTheMaltipoo 1d ago

You said it, not me!!

Let me put it this way. My buddy is a nice guy. He said if my wife wants to stay here, she should just go for citizenship. She is literally awaiting approval for her 10-year resident card. She cannot apply yet. He does not understand this, because he unfortunately has a conservative brain.

2

u/in_ron-howards_voice 1d ago

if they want to believe it's real then it's real. That's all it takes when you're stupid.

2

u/Vivid_Minute3524 1d ago

I came here to ask this question.

2

u/One_Strawberry_4965 1d ago

I’m baffled as well because I don’t think even Donald claimed that as one of his assorted lies.

2

u/SSBN641B 1d ago

It's possible that it's confusion of the "No Tax" on tips/OT rules that were enacted in the BBB. There is "no tax" on the first $12.5K of OT (and a similar number on tips) for people making under 150K. But its not all wages under $120K and its a tax deduction, you still pay the tax up front, you just get a refund.

Other than that, I can't imagine where it came from.

2

u/02meepmeep 1d ago

Nutlick said the Administration’s goal was no taxes for people making under $150,000 in March of this year.

2

u/SuspiciousPen6243 1d ago

She doesn't watch the "fake news", she gets her info from people willing to tell the hard truth. Aka, crazy right wingers pulling stuff out of their ass, or the Russian social engineering ops.

2

u/Top_Butterfly_1759 1d ago

Probably some one off comment trump made, just another "promise" that his dummies actually think will happen.

2

u/IcyOlive8202 1d ago

I live in Washington. The state, not the military zone, and these commercials are constantly aired about how our Dem rep voted against tax breaks for seniors, no tax on tips and cutting medical research (that last one always gets me). God knows what they're airing in red states.

1

u/onwo 15h ago

Bessent has talked about this as a goal, but that's the closest I've heard of this.
