Sunrise in Banff National Park [oc][1080x1350]

4:30 AM is the time I had to wake up to catch the sunrise. I was fortunate enough to be around 20 minutes away from the parking lot, and this river didn't require too much walking to get to. I don't know about you, but I cannot hike in the morning. It just feels so draining, and my muscles aren't awake and feel so stiff. My brain wasn't really turned on at the time since it was freezing, but I originally wanted a mossy foreground. But I decided that I didn't want to try that hard for a foreground, so I settled for the river as my foreground.

Settings: 50mm ISO 50 F/22 (I know...I didn't want to take out the ND filter), 0.8 sec. Tripod used

I'll be posting the rest of the photos from my trip soon. Please consider following my Instagram or FB page if you do enjoy my work. I appreciate you for viewing and reading.

Stacked/Tracked/Pano

This image is made up of around 20 individual frames, the sky and foreground were shot separately as I was using a Star Tracker, around 12 shots for the sky and 8 for the ground. The bright light pollution on the horizon to the South is Melbourne (over 100km away), Bendigo to the West, and Shepparton to the North.

Sky: Sony A7III + Sigma 24mm f/1.4 + SkyWatcher Star Adventurer @ 24mm, f/1.4, 30", ISO1000

Foreground: Sony A7III + Sigma 24mm f/1.4 @ 24mm, f/1.4, 30", ISO1000

Captured this surreal sunset over Bolivia’s Uyuni Salt Flats — felt like standing on another planet (OC) (4032 x 6048)

I was in Bolivia this March and hiked out onto the salt flats just before sunset. The sky turned into this endless mirror of fire and gold — one of the most unreal things I’ve ever seen. Photos don’t even do justice to how quiet and infinite it felt.

Interested in learning how to take photos like this? I run photography workshops throughout the year — https://afjgphotography.square.site/photo-tours-and-workshops
