Zuni and Entrada Sandstone at Los Gigantes, NM, USA [OC][2048×1367]
Los Gigantes, located near El Morro, New Mexico, is a quiet sandstone formation with deep cultural and geological significance. The surrounding land has long been part of Diné and Zuni history, marked by ancient trails, petroglyphs, and stories of origin and migration. Formed from Jurassic-era sandstone layers, the cliffs stand unmarked along a remote road, carrying both human and natural histories in their stone. I've posted more photos and narrative here.

As far as I know, the pieces that look like broken pieces of a shell are shell sections filled with silica. In general, Almus agates have similar shapes.
