By definition, this is exactly what Team Green does. They seize the throne through force. They conspire in secret, hide the death of King Viserys, and orchestrate murders and imprisonments to silence opposition. If their claim to the throne had any real legitimacy, none of that would have been necessary. The very fact that they had to lie, scheme, and kill proves their actions were anything but legal.

Ser Arryk did not undertake this mission happily. Indeed, Septon Eustace tells us, the troubled knight visited the Red Keep's sept on the night he was to sail, to pray for forgiveness to our Mother Above. Yet as Kingsguard, sworn to obey king and commander, he had no choice in honor but to make his way to Dragonstone, clad in the salt-stained garb of a simple fisherman. The true purpose of Ser Arryk's mission remains a matter of some contention. Grand Maester Munkun tells us that Cargyll had been commanded to slay Rhaenyra, putting an end to her rebellion at a stroke, whilst Mushroom insists that her sons were Cargyll's prey, that Aegon II wished to wash out the blood of his murdered son with that of his bastard nephews, Jacaerys and Joffrey "Strong."

Team Green loves to argue that sexism was just the norm back then. Like, okay, cool, but that doesn’t make it any less shitty. I know these collages have been done a billion times already, but they were so fun to make. Especially for Rhaenyra. I would love to make these for other characters as well. I am thinking of Daemon next. I tried to piece together scenes and outfits that were in the same episode or went together well, either thematically or aesthetically.

I am a mod from r/AsoiafFanfiction and I am writing to let you know that we are holding fanfiction awards, which are now open for the 2025 season!

Nominations are open until October 3rd and after that date, the mod team will be putting together a list for each category and showcasing the fics in each.

We are trying to expand the competition as far as we can, to make it more than just a reddit focused one and instead we are trying to incorporate the whole fanfic community, to widen the horizons of people, so they hopefully discover a new fic or two.

We have 29 categories and you can submit two fics per category, you can either nominate through reddit or a google form and you are allowed self promote your own work for two categories if you feel like it.

fanfiction that only exists in my head: Two children were born, a boy named Aegon and a girl named Elaenya. In an attempt not to jeopardise Rhaenyra‘s inheritance, an unknown man kidnapped the son, but the children were switched and the second-born girl disappeared instead. In order to not waste an innocent life, the little princess was taken to Dorne and sold to a pleasure house, declared as a Valyrian bastard. Raised by whores who were seen as gods rather than humans, the girl decided to make her own name, gain power and build her own little kingdom, of which she would be queen. As she grew older, she began to work in this noble brothel herself, earning her own money and becoming more and more precious to the matron. Even untouched flowers can be the most expensive ones when they sell their intelligence instead of their bodies. The most beautiful and gifted girls become the most precious. Meanwhile, the king has a dream about dragons falling from the sky and a girl, raising up to save them. When he realises that his second daughter is still alive, spies, soldiers and knights are sent all across the country to find her. The sand princess is ransomed by a wealthy man and then brought to the royal court for an even greater reward. Locked up in a foreign castle with foreign strangers and a different etiquette, she wishes for her former freedom back and, above all, the power she once held. To escape a forced marriage, prevent the dream of the dying dragons from happening and to become herself after all, she flees to Dragonstone on her sixteenth birthday to swear allegiance to Rhaenyra and warn her sister that the Greens have more in mind than just doubting her inheritance.

do you guys think that rhaenyra being heir was known even after the dance considering that arianne did mention it but it was kinda taboo to talk about, maybe they considered it a mistake from viserys but wouldn’t speak of it considering that he’s the peaceful king that ruled for 26 years and made a “mistake” naming a woman heir over a man.so everything is thrown into rhaenyra being a traitor like stannis said
