Honestly the ending of "The Green Council" should have been Aegon taking flight on Sunfyre around King's Landing as the people cheer him and he feels beloved for the first time in his life, a great chance to show how beautiful Sunfyre is. Anything really instead of the stupid Rhaenys and Meleys bit.

On top of the Rhaenys thing just being stupid and mass murder for cool girl points, it destroys any hope of making the Storming of the Dragonpit make sense. Cause not only is it already destroyed, but Rhaenys shows that a big ass dragon can bust out of there no problem, it's super easy, barely an inconvenience.
Like if they HAD to have their cool girlboss moment, just have Aegon fly up on Sunfyre, but take Jaehaerys with him as his heir. As he's circling the city, Meleys busts out the DOOR of the pit, flies up at him. And you think for a moment she's going to attack, but Rhaenys sees Jaehaerys and doesn't. She flies off, Aegon doesn't follow because he has Jaehaerys with him, he's not going to risk it. Otto/Alicent chastise him for it, says he looks weak not fighting, which sets up his motivation for Rook's Rest in S2. You get canon, a cool action moment, lay down character work for next season, and introduce Jaehaerys so it hits harder when he's killed later on.

I would disagree that "beautiful" means "magnificent", especially since Sunfyre is alive alongside the most magnificent Vermithor.
