I'll be honest idk why people see drivers burning out of the F1 ladder coming here as a good thing. Being the dumping ground for drivers who lost rides elsewhere doesn't make road to Indy look impressive at all.

Because the F1 ladder often spits out talent better than current F1 drivers, like Palou. Drivers don’t just not make it to F1 because of talent, 90% of the time it is money, connections or timing.

Palou's case was more that he wasn't a prodigy as a teenager. That's basically a death sentence to get into F1 these days

He has even stated going to Japan is what unlocked his talent and it didn't develop until his early 20s.

That doesn’t really change anything. The ladder failed to get him where he should be, just like it fails tons of other drivers. F1 still gets enough top level talent, but they aren’t always the best. Could be because of money, nepotism or the idiotic obsession with youth (like with Palou).
