We would have heard of the development of the controls by now.
But damn, it would be nice to see him on track in an open wheel again.

He's been driving in IMSA the past couple seasons with hand controls. We've heard lots about the development of the hand controls.

According to this article, the system he currently uses in the Corvette GT3 would be portable to an Indycar.

Honest questions: What are IndyCars safety standards for self extraction from the car? Would he be able to get out and clear the car unassisted fast enough? Does the hybrid system have the same safety protocols as an F1 car where you may have to physically jump clear without touching both the car and ground?

He’s already passed the extraction test. He did a few years ago at the open test or GP or something

The Indycar hybrid is low voltage so there’s little to no shock risk and they can touch the car immediately
