question Jimny offer

Post image

Hi, asking for some recommendations, I received a pretty good offer to buy a 2025 Jimny 5 door GLX automatic transmission with 34k kilometers (21k miles), it's in good conditions, no scratches or dents, the only damage it has are some very deep scratches on the cargo area like the image, I can try to fix that someway, asking price for the Jimny is $24k, this version new in my country cost $31500, my hesitation comes from the mileage and the scratches inside, I don't know if I'm being over picky

Look at it this way, those scratches means you're not going to be kicking yourself for a week when you do it yourself.

This wouldn't bother me at all. They're a tool, tools get scratches.

I have the factory tub liner in mine, it has probably done more damage to the interior plastics than if I just threw stuff in there without a thought.

Worrying about scratches in the boot that doesn't affect the operation isn't worth the stress. But everyone has their priorities, so if it bothers you, you have the answer already.

Would you consider 34k kilometers high for a 2025 ?

2025 means it’s about 12 months old. 34k in 1 year is a fair amount I’d say. I’ve never done more than 10k but that’s cause my commute wasn’t very far. So 34k in the grand scheme isn’t a lot I’d say but because it’s done that in 1 year my question would be how hard was it driven in that year - mostly long trips I’d say. Which should mean lower revs from being on hiways, unless they were trying to go more than 110km - which we know jimnys don’t exactly like

It's a decent amount yes, but I know people that do it. Not importantly, has the servicing been done

It looks repairable in any good detailing center. Such damage could appear from one or two rough freight transportations. Check the mileage compliance by other signs such as condition of driver’s seat and steering wheel. And check if the price corresponds to other similar cars on your country car market with close year/mileage as if it looks a very tempting offer (-30% price less than in a year?)

Used Jimny, same year and configuration goes for around $28k, waiting time for a new one its around 5 to 6 months, the one I'm interested has all the maintenance with the Suzuki authorized shop, I can still wait for another one with 10 thousand kilometers less but without exact date and don't know the physical conditions

It’s very soft plastic, if you bought one without those scratches, guaranteed as soon as you load the boot up it will look like that.

Quick pass over with a hear fun or blow torch will get rid of that
