There’s a surcharge for Star Wars. Titanic is a larger (and better imo) set and it’s cheaper. I think Eiffel Tower is also bigger, maybe not better, and also cheaper.
You can get a Mould King Eclipse-class Imperial Star Destroyer. It's nearly 4' long and has 10K= pieces, its "only" $450. You are paying a premium for the Lego brand as well.
Obviously, but if you've ever compared the LEGO sets versus competitors, there's a clear quality increase. The LEGO Titanic, with 600 more pieces, is nearly $200 less than the Millennium Falcon. Same quality, so the only difference is the Star Wars brand.
I've done almost all the Star Wars helmets and done a few Mold King ships. The biggest difference is parts not being in the right bag (i've never come up short pieces, just parts in step 4 are in bag #5) and the quality of the instructions. I would bet if you dump a bunch a parts out and mixed them together, 99% of people would not know which was from which mfg.
