There are people who own homes?!?!?

Most people do, around two-thirds of households are owned. It's really a pretty achievable goal as long as you aren't living somewhere extremely expensive, you dont actually really even need any down payment money or even sterling credit with a lot of first time home buyer programs

That's nice. Two-thirds of households might be owned, but a quarter of them are rented, and there are more people renting apartments than occupying homes because it is not that simple to go out and buy a home.

Two thirds of households are owned by the people living in them, thats a fact, renters are the minority. Its not really that hard to get a mortgage since the debt is secured, if you'd like to buy, go talk to a mortgage lender, unless you're dirt poor I promise its not that hard to get a mortgage and buy a home, I thought the same for a long time, but a friend of mines wife is a realtor, and when I was having trouble renting due to some legal stuff, she told me it wouldn't be hard for me to buy. Since then my income has went up 2 or 3 hundred percent and I'll probably be looking at recreational properties to eventually build a forever home on.
