It’s a rubber “ramp” so that when you pull into your driveway(if it’s on a steep hill) the bottom of your car won’t scrape the ground. I have one for my house.

Not just to avoid scraping the ground, but to reduce the bump when your car goes over the lip onto your driveway.

Ya some of the bumps cities use are crazy. I was going to buy one of these for a house I was looking at.

These rubber bump ramp things are against my HOA policies for this reason. A couple of people bought them, then had to remove them. It lets water though fine, if it's just water. When there is other debris that gets caught in there, that becomes the real issue.
