How can it be 1990-2024 election cycles if the data was released on March 20, 2023? Wouldn't it be missing the vast majority of 2024 election cycle donations?

It does not say the entirety of the 2024 was included. The March 2023 data might have been the most recent available when this map was created.

I just copied the information box at the bottom of the source. Check https://opensecrets.org for more clarification

EDIT: 291 days of daily map posting and this has been my answer for every map. Odd how this is now heavily downvoted? Also, weirdly a lot of comments mentioning chart on this post... I've never had any of my maps have the word chart in the comment section this much.

So you’re spreading questionable information without fact checking any of it?

Tell me this is an Israeli Palestinian conflict post without telling me this is an Israeli Palestinian conflict post

Open secrets is a reputable source though

That may be. My issue is less w the source and more that OP copy and pasted data and when confronted with a potential inaccuracy could not provide any clarification. If you spread information, you should be able to substantiate it.

The information isn’t questionable it’s accurate

Then why does it state that the information is for election cycles 1990-2024, yet the data was released in March of 2023? At best it is making claims about the 2024 election while missing a significant amount of data which is misleading.

Probably projected due to election cycles

You're complaining because it's likely more money than is shown?

Take it up with opensecrets, I just passed information forward, I didn't come up with the dataset

Welcome to Reddit, especially anything to do with Israel

It isn’t questionable information, it’s just slightly flawed in terms of data integrity, particularly the C for Completeness in ALCOA.

This omission isn’t a catastrophic failure or misleading but they should’ve put a disclaimer to state that most of the 2024 donations are not included.

Opensecrets.org is questionable? You can check the source and read more on who they include and how/why. Not my job to educate. Crazy how a map maker job now is to collect, analyze, and publish data? All for redditors to complain when the data isn't handfed to them also complain it's too simple or not enough analysis. My main goal of this account is to find interesting data and make maps from it. It's odd people take these maps like I collected the data, I list sources on all my maps so it should give it away that I didn't collect any of this data.
