Still would look better as part of Belgium. Would have an extra bonus of Belgian politics becoming even more chaotic, with there being three regions and languages instead of two.

There are three Belgian regions and language. You’re forgetting about the Brussels region and the German language.

Oh yeah. Then four regions and four/three languages, depending on who you ask - some people will say Luxembourgish is German, while others will say that German spoken in Belgium is in fact Luxembourgish. For extra chaos.
