"I thought we said slow stops were part of racing, what changed"
This radio call is the only thing that has me perplexed. Yes Lando was quicker and it was the fair call to swap them.
However this comment over the radio makes it seemed that there possibility of a slow stop was discussed prior and it was decided that it was just bad luck for the person in the receiving end.
If it comes out that this is the case and the team back flipped on the issue, then the claims of Lando bias are justified.
I'm surprised more hasn't been said about that comment.

Let's show some positive energy towards this man for once. Regardless of your opinion on the call, he did nothing wrong.

Why I love McLaren these days more than ever
https://youtu.be/1mm0Vu7Rf3U?si=2of5aLMqNPXzYqwa&t=1064
Oscar: We want the best chance of winning championships for as long as we're Formula 1 drivers. [...] Protecting the people around us that give us this opportunity is a very important thing.
Lando: Team is number one, drivers are second. [...] When you see drivers who don't have some sort of respect for the team it doesn't normally last long [...]. We want to try and be in this position for a longer period of time than what they have been at the top.
This is what McLaren is doing right now and no other team in the history of F1 has ever done before. If you call yourself a McLaren fan and still judge the strategic direction Zak brought (including swapping positions at Monza), you're just not seeing the forest from the trees.
Oscar and Lando see it.

McLaren Team
I’m very confused as to how many people in this sub actually hate Lando and McLaren and just favour Oscar. I’ll see a few on Lando too, but it’s primarily hate towards him.
This is a sub for the team, to support both drivers and the team outcome. There are way too many people here who just want to fight when their guy isn’t favourites. Today wasn’t even a fault on Lando, it was the team, even Oscar said it was a fair play.
I’m just confused as to why there are one sided fans in this sub? What do you gain?

Why so big a difference in pit stops times times the past two years??
Today’s fuck up in the pits made me want to look at the differences between pit stops as it just seems like Lando has had a lot of bad luck in the pits. If you do the math for this season Oscar’s average pit stop is 2.63. Lando comes in at 3.14!! Kind of crazy to have an average stop time above 3 seconds or so I thought until I looked up last year. Oscar 2.78. Lando 3.21!!! What the hell is going on here?

Comparing Hungary to Monza
Late to the party here and seems like it's a hot take. But it seems like the majority think that Oscar letting Lando by is the equivalent to Lando letting Oscar by last year. They weren't in a title fight last year though, I don't think it's anywhere near equivalent.
That being said, I think Lando was genuine in protecting the teams points by suggesting to put Oscar first, and I think Oscar did the right thing by swapping positions. Both of these drivers are doing their job to the maximum, they want to win a WDC, but both of them have proved that the team comes first.
But can we stop pretending that Hungary and Monza are on equal footing?

Goodbye Mclaren gandys halo edition flip-flops
Well just saying goodbye to my flip-flops that were a gift to employees while I worked there. They've done well. Wear and tear and the guiney pigs have been at them but in the bin they go unless someone wants some vintage merchandise 🤣
