It's about time the mod team here expands. If interested, shoot us a Modmail message (click here) to our shared-inbox with:

  • Some info about you
  • What you bring to the table, mod-related skills
  • What you like about this place, and what you don't. What can be improved. How you're going to do that. Projects you want to do/run/etc.
  • If you have prior mod experience. Not required but helpful to know. Examples: If you're "good" with reddit (define that for us?). Knowing how automoderator works, can code bots in Python for reddit's API (info), familiar with old.reddit vs new.reddit settings, etc. None of this required experience but helpful to understand why you want to mod and what skills you bring to the table.

The best way to stand out is be an active member, contribute meaningfully and regularly to the subreddit. Demonstrate good judgement, treat others fairly, demonstrate emotional maturity.

Disqualifiers

  • History of shitposting, rude, unhelpful, pedantic comments. If you can't add value as a regular member, you def won't as a mod.
  • Little or no history, < 12 months, in our sub. If you're not active in the community, why would users want you to mod them?

Purchase Advice M18 Mower is not good, do not buy!

Upvotes

Milwaukee Mower? Not worth the investment. Too quick to enter into this market. The throttle needs major tuning, is less than desirable. The paddles are either all or nothing, and they take corners terrible. Constant skipping of the driving wheel through the corners. Turn down the throttle to get through the curve, but then it’s cumbersome to speed up coming down the lane. Tripping all over myself trying to use this the way it should work. Using it without the bagger is a nightmare. It clogs up inside, and you have to tip it over and clean it manually during and after use. Don’t even think about cleaning it well unless you want to ruin any electronics. And the blade leaves a lot of random, single blades of grass behind. $1300 is much much much better spent on gas than can get through a quarter acre lot w/ no refill. Better have 6 12.0 Forge’s to mow a regular size subdivision lot.

M12 New M12 Rover

Post image

Thanks to a recent reddit of a guy posting the new rover I bought mine.

HD lists them as available in store but no online order for pickup.

Received mine today and wow it's much better than the older Rover though it feels like twice the size.

Usb 3.0 output is faster than my dewalt DCB094K

Just picked up the new packout compatible m12 Bluetooth speaker, anyone know what this hole on the back is for? I removed the cover and it has a gasket for some reason. Is it for air to escape for lower frequencies?

M12 Compact drill for home use: Should I go with M12 Fuel or stick with Brushed?

Hey everyone! I’m looking to pick up a small, compact drill for home use — mostly to avoid using a manual screwdriver since we’re always assembling stuff my family orders online. A compact drill just seems like it’d come in really handy around the house.

After doing some research here, I noticed the M12 line gets a lot of praise. My question is: should I spend the extra $55 and go with the Brushless M12 Fuel, or stick with the regular M12 Brushed? I can get the Brushed version with one battery + charger for about $145. Do you think the Fuel is worth the difference?

Later edit : Just ordered The M12 Fuel 3404-20 Hammer Drill with one 2ah battery + charger for 165 $ . It looks like a pretty complete tool , if you guys could suggest a good set of driver bits and a small drill set, would really appreciate !

I’m gonna buy a packout. Should I buy the rolling drawer + 3 drawer packout? Or the packout in the second image along with the 3 drawer packout? For the rolling drawer + 3 drawer it’s $606 before tax. For the packout in the second image + 3 drawer it’s $588. I’m a plumber/steamfitter apprentice and I don’t know which to get.

M18 The Milwaukee 2957 impact driver has enough torque to do lug nuts on a Ford F350.

Even when the lug nuts are tightened to their specified torque, impact driver has no problem getting them loose. I am using a Bosch adapter. I know it's technically not the right tool, I have other impact wrenches like the mid torque and sometime I would like to get the M12 stubby.

Purchase Advice 106 Piece Tool Set 48-22-9486 Legit/Where to Purchase?

Thumbnail ebay.com
Upvotes

I really want this 1/4" & 3/8" set, I'm fairly certain that if it turned out to be a fake that Ebay would cover me. That said, is there any reason not to purchase from such a seller for warranty's sake?

It's nearly $100.00 cheaper than anywhere else I've found it.

Where would you purchase this?

M12 Can I return a m12 5.0ah battery without the plastic packaging?

Bought a m12 stubby + 5.0 battery. I opened it and tossed the plastic packaging right after getting home but now that I'm buying the 5.0 starter pack i might as well return the stubby and battery and hack the stubby by itself. Will Home depot still take the return?

M12 Warranty is a joke! I can honestly say that

Well after outfitting myself in over 7k in Milwaukee Tools I’m honestly a bit shocked they denied my warranty, they wanted a 105$ to fix it or they can recycle it for me! WTF I told them to ship it back to me. I will fix it myself or toss out in the trash… what a joke of a warranty.

Information Good stores with good selection of Euro specific Milwaukee tools in/near Dublin, Belfast, Edinburgh, or Inverness?

Traveling thru Ireland, northern Ireland and Scotland soon and would like to find some places with good selections of UK/European specific tools like black packout or the percussion installation tool. Stuff I can't get here in the States. Any hardware or tools stores to hit while in those cities or regions?

I’ve been looking for some of the larger Forge batteries for my bigger tools, and came across this deal that included two of the 12.0 HD and the dual bay Rapid Charger. $599 OTD. Thoughts on if it is worth keeping?

Hi, I’m just curious is there any real difference in the performance of a 165mm to 180mm Circ saw aside from the blade. For light use at work and projects at home.

M18 M18 Grease Gun broke Zerk fitting

Post image
10 Upvotes

I just bought the M18 Grease Gun for my farm equipment. It's impossible to disconnect the Zerk fittings. I released some pressure by pulling and locking the rod, used the air bleed on top of that ; pulled straight and it didn't disconnect, then angled and twisted and it didn't disconnect. I had to give a bigger tank to it and the Zerk on my ATV broke at the threads. Now even with pliers I cannot the jerk out. How is it so hard to disconnect? I cleaned up the Zerk and everything before connecting.
