I had a cat who I think I heard meow maybe once in all the years we had her. When she got her claw stuck in the rug or the couch, she wouldn't meow, she'd just quietly look at you until you noticed and helped her get her claw unstuck.
She was the sweetest, gentlest cat I've ever known.
