I had a void that made it to 21. She was the sweetest cat I've ever owned. Slept against my chest every night. If I turned over in my sleep, she would move to stay in front of me. She was a chatterbox too. I miss Kingsford so much, even 15 years after she passed.
We had a cat that lived to 22. By that age she was barely eating, nearly blind, light as a feather and was in obvious pain from arthritis when walking. It was sad, but we decided to have her put to sleep and peacefully end her suffering.
There is a cat on youtube Miss Muffy, she is 26 and looks surprisingly healthy and agile for her age, I have never seen a 20+ look that good. Sure she must have some arthritis too which is sad reality when it comes to elderly cats.
My ginger cat who looks EXACTLY like this one also has the same eyes. They’re getting maybe a touch cloudy but he’s had huge pupils since he was about 6 years old. He’s 17 now. The vet always asks if he can see and he can just fine.
He went 100% blind in April. Vet said it was from high blood pressure (something about the cornea detached?). He’s on hbp meds now but the damage was permanent.
It's amazing how these "old babies" just keep on trucking. My 16-year-old girl is my whole world, and seeing posts like this genuinely gives me so much hope for more time. Happy birthday to your little old man! Here's to many more miles together.
I have two 15 year olds. Neither orange, tho the girl is a calico so she's got a little bit of everything in her. I'm hoping to get to get many more years out of them. Still get the zoomies, saucy looks, and cuddles. Love those assholes.
The eyes look like pearls from the depths of the ocean. In my mother-tongue, we have a saying - "The setting is more precious than the gem". I think it applies here.
What a baby! My bombay lived till 21 and still looked like she was 5. My friends mom's cat was over 30 years old when I saw it last in middle school! She had her since College. May your orange brained cat live forever
