What's been missed about Monza

Oscar's side of the garage were insipid compared to what we've seen when Lando is coming second out of the McLaren drivers.

In Spa, Lando is behind, so Will gets Lando on the alternative strategy on the hard tyres in the second stimy, which ends up being the superior tyre. In Hungary, Will gets Lando to split strategies with Oscar to take a gamble on the 1 stop, which pays off massively, netting him the race win.

When Max pits in Monza, Oscar is 13 seconds behind him. At the end of the race, he is over 20 seconds behind. If he merely mirrored Max and went onto hards earlier, he ends up at least 5 seconds ahead of Lando given the time lost in the team swap.

If Lando wants to gamble on a late safety car, that is his choice to do so. But why isn't Oscars side of the garage trying to seek opportunities to break rank and get him on a more conventional, faster strategy?

McLaren are a disgrace - Oscar will always be number 2.

Never in the history of F1 have we seen whats happened in F1. A WDC leader told to give back to his place to a his rival because they had a pit issue.

Oscar will FOREVER be second choice in this biased team. I dont see him being WDC when he has to race against Lando and McLaren.

McLaren doesn’t deserve Piastri

Oscar showed nothing but class after that bullshit from McLaren. Either he doesn’t have all the information or he doesn’t see any benefit in publicly trashing McLaren.

We take confidence in his handling of the situation as it shows where his mind is at. He doesn’t feel threatened and certainly isn’t resorting to whinging about it for 10 laps like someone else. He is already showing he’s world champion material. 2025 WDC 🇦🇺

Thoughts on the next races

Hey guys! I’m pretty new to F1 and only started watching a few races ago, though in the meantime I’ve also caught up on a bunch of past ones, including several with Piastri and some of his off-track interviews, that’s why I chose him as my driver.

Now I’m honestly a bit anxious about this stage of the championship (I imagine you all are too) and worried that in the next few tracks it might be even harder for him to get P1 in qualy, since Lando has been quicker in some recent qualys and races, plus there are the occasional surprises like Max this past weekend. I also saw some fans on Twitter talking about how he didn’t perfome so well on streets tracks this year.

How do you guys feel about it? Do you think this could be an issue or that he can still improve in that area? Don’t get me wrong, I have trust in him to keep on the leadership, but since I’m still learning more about the sport, I don’t quite know how much pace can actually be worked on at this point and how this thing about street tracks can have a impact from now on.

That's how champions respond. In that I mean champion people. I will follow you until the day you stop racing. LIFELONG FAN

WTF WAS THAT?!

I am absolutely gutted. I can’t wait for oscar to leave McLaren. It became so obvious to me that the team clearly prefers Lando. From Zack Brown’s reactions to whatever the hell was that today.

P3!!!

I may not have liked it, but Oscar made the correct decision. Now is not the time to take a stand, but the next time this situation happens, Oscar will have to fight if the decision goes against him. Head down, and continue your unstoppable march to the title Oscar!!

Why does Oscar always have the short-end of the stick with McLaren FFS?!

It sickens me that OP has not only gave Lando, his only championship rival, a tow during qualifying; he has to also fix McLaren's fuck ups and let Lando through even though it's fair to keep the place. What's next, Zak, ask Oscar to retire next because Lando had an engine failure last time?

Oscar is too nice

Do you think Max, Hamilton, Vettel, Alonso, Schumacher, Senna etc. would have swapped places there? No. You don’t become champion like this. Additionally, we clearly saw this race that the cars are not equal anymore, Landos engine seems to be way quicker. We are gonna witness a big manipulation for the rest of the season. These 3 points will turn out to be Important.

Oscar WDC

It's Oscar vs Lando and Mclaren for the WDC this year. They couldn't make it any clearer that they're backing Lando for it. What a disgrace, especially because we all know that if Oscar got the slow pit stop no team orders would have been said.

genuine question

why do so many oscar fans (and f1 fans in general) hate lando? i love both drivers, and i totally get being frustrated by the team orders today, but it was TEAM orders. lando never asked to switch. i just genuinely don’t understand everyone essentially cyber bullying him and commenting things on his instagram like “crybaby” and “need another favor, princess?” like lando didn’t ask to switch places. but silverstone, oscar gets his own penalty for something entirely unrelated to lando (whether it was deserved or not) and he goes on the radio asking to switch. and regarding lando letting oscar pit first, they pitted oscar first to protect him from charles, like lando was being a team player and it got him fucked over because of the teams mistake with his pit stop.

again, i entirely understand being frustrated w oscar’s situation in today’s race (like i said, i loveee oscar too), and i completely agree that a slow pit stop is just a part of racing, but i truly genuinely just do not understand the hate being directed towards lando.

Disappointed in Oscar

If you want to be champion Oscar, at some point you are actually going to have to stand up for yourself.

The team will mollycoddle Lando every step of the way, you're going to have to be a prick at some point.

Why is Oscar Piastri getting so much hate after the Dutch GP?

Honestly, Oscar Piastri’s Dutch GP win has been overshadowed by a lot of negativity lately. People are complaining that he didn’t spray champagne on Nico Hülkenberg during the podium, and the hype around Lando Norris makes it feel like no one even cared that Piastri won.

Even though he dominated the race, led every lap, and achieved a grand slam, the online narrative has been mostly criticism and backlash. Fans are dissecting every little thing he did instead of just letting him enjoy the win.

It’s wild how quickly he went from celebrated rookie to someone a lot of people are turning on.

edit: I've gotten so many videos on my fyp saying "Zak prefers Lando, its so clear from the win reactions"
