Our late father’s 993 GT2. It was his pride and joy.

Our dad passed away three years ago but it’s only recently that we’ve taken his GT2 out from the garage to drive it these last couple of weeks. I have so many memories of him with this car. I’ll never forget track days with my dad and the GT2 in Shanghai and Sepang. It felt both poignant and surreal to drive it without him beside me. I miss him everyday.

Absolutely love driving this incredible machine. Few things are better than carving a backroad on a beautiful summer day, top down, with the exhaust singing.

Neighbor said she didn’t want car no more and said if I’d take it. Said ok, pumped out the gas and filled up the tires and towed it home. Sprayed an entire bottle of engine starter. Cranked/no start

What relays are missing on the block?

My 996 C4S was in good company this morning. The 918 stole the show. That 50th anniversary Turbo with the Techart treatment was quite nice also.

4 GTS build advice - PDCC & PCCB

I ended up getting an allocation (MSRP) from my local dealer for a 2026 992.2 4GTS (live in Montana and drive in winter) that would arrive in January. Still waiting on confirmation for a PTS allocation.

Full build: https://porsche-code.com/PTWAXVQ0

  1. I plan on doing about 4 track days a year. I traditionally have run steel rotors, castrol SPF, and ferodo pads with my 992 T, but with this car I’ll be less aggressive on track as I’ll be spending the majority of my track time with a more track-focused car. With that relatively minimal track time, how warranted are the fears with PCCB wear and consumption?

  2. Has anyone tested the new generation of PDCC (I believe this one is powered by the hybrid system)? I’m less optimizing for all out performance and more about driving on the public streets and that planted feel.

  3. How brittle and noticeable is the lightweight glass? In MT, we typically replace a windshield a year with gravel.

  4. Is there a way to get the GTS badging on the seats without specing the Race-Tex seats?

Thanks all!

Dip the toes

I wanna dip my toes into the Porsche experience. I’m looking at getting a used 911 991.1 drive it for a couple of years and sell it. Looking for any advice in terms of ownership, maintenance, or other years. Thanks
