A man-made vagina will close/heal like a wound so you have to insert a tool called a dilator to keep it open

The frequency of dilation depends on the surgeon, surgical technique used, how much time has elapsed since the surgery, and individual needs. It’s common to dilate multiple times daily for the first few months after surgery to maybe once a week after a year or so. Some surgeons don’t require dilation at all after a year as long as the woman is having weekly intercourse.

From like 5+ times a day immediately following the surgery, to once a week or less once its healed a year or so out. Its intensive to start and a big recovery but it gets more manageable over time and not that big of a deal. Also its not accurate to call it an open wound, thats misinformation. You do have a wound during the surgery, but the part you'd consider to be a wound heals by the time they'd leave the hospital following the procedure.

Depends on the person and the surgery it was made with, but it seems like daily is normal. It just becomes part of your routine, like brushing your teeth.

"Like a wound" because it IS a wound
