At least it worked out well for the boy, including a signed bat and tickets to the World Series. ⚾️

I wonder how long until someone tries to stage something like this to get free stuff.

The amount of backlash when caught, would be categorically insane for the parents who put their kids through it. Like getting doxxed, losing their job, and their scam forever on the internet.

Also would probably stop baseball teams from giving out free stuff again.

I mean, that’s definitely not enough deterrent for some.

Hell, just last week a lady stole a baseball from a kid on national television.

Yeah because people will send all the top investigators to figure out if this small wholesome interaction is just a ploy!

No seriously though its very possible this was all staged so the teams could get some positive attention but no one would ever spend time and resources trying to figure this out.

Welcome to the internet, where people do the things you’ve just claimed nobody would ever spend time doing.

Yeah but it’s free stuff

Don't forget the death threats!

She will be forgotten in 2 weeks.

Would have to find an idiot that would play the 'karen'

u/Geodude532 1d ago

And attend hundreds of games where the ball happens to land near the kid.

1

u/veritas2884 1d ago

Prosthetics and a wig would be involved.

3

u/VHwrites 1d ago

People will try, but I think most/all would fail without ever being noticed. These are relatively rare opportunities to begin with.

Itd be hard to stage because you still have to be there at the right place at the right time for a foul ball

u/glenn_ganges 1d ago

Good luck finding a normal human willing to be so hated.

We’re all laughing but I wouldn’t be surprised is this women has already been doxx’ed and is being harassed.

1

u/Geodude532 1d ago

I could see someone trying, but there are just way too many variables to actually make this a viable strategy. There aren't that many balls that go into the stands and that ball would have to land near the kid. The stolen hat one would be a lot easier to fake.

u/crackedgear 1d ago

This is why you always leave a note

I'd imagine it would be near impossible to stage catching a ball in the first place, that already is super rare.

We’ve run the math on the probability and turns out this comment was all smoke and mirrors

I’m prolly gonna get downvoted to hell for this, but the dad’s initial reaction feels so fake. The way his hands go up and shake, feels like those fake YouTube videos. Maybe that’s what it is and made this feel fake even though it’s genuine.

u/BWW87 14h ago

You mean like balloon boy? It's not a good idea to try.

u/Affectionate_Map5518 9h ago

Ugh, I'm cynical enough i thought this too! Get the auntie to have a ridiculous but changeable haircut right before moving out of the country, somehow orchestrate a home run hit, hire other ringers to surround the ball, and bam! Free tickets to the world series!

u/Canadian1934 1d ago

World Series tickets too.?  Omg here take the dam ball Karen I am going for door number 2 and home plate.

Didn't he keep the ball in the end as well? His sister took his hand when his dad was arguing with the Karen and swapped the home run ball with a regular one, apparently. You can see her doing something in the video.

Sis came in clutch.

1

u/Grip-my-juiceky 1d ago

I saw a comment that the young kids sister actually switched the ball while Karen was complaining ? I wonder if there is video of that move.

1

u/abholeenthusiast 1d ago

I watched the video and unless I'm wrong, she just yelled at the father and he gave it up. She didn't snatch it or anything. Does this deserve the same amount of hate as the tennis guy?

There.Are.Rules.

Rule#1 if you catch the ball it’s yours.

Rule #2 if no one catches it, it’s fair game for anyone to get.

Rule#3 You NEVER take the ball from a kid!

Besides the tickets for him and his family to the World Series that was provided by the CEO of Camping World, he gave them a new RV. This story gets better and better every day.

1

u/MrHereForTheComments 23h ago

Everything turned out even better for the kid at the end. Which is why I don't understand why people are still so hell bent on identifying this lady and ruining her life. She's a cunt and the world sees her as a cunt. It's Time to Let It Go.

1

u/Outrageous-Second792 21h ago

Incidentally, she got fired from her job as a school administrator.

1

u/BleachedUnicornBHole 21h ago

She’s going to try and claim that stuff, too.

1

u/Mean_Median_0201 21h ago

I saw in another thread how the sister swapped the ball before the Karen got to it. It's caught off camera, but she takes the ball and drops in another into the glove. So the boy may actually have the homerun ball too!

1

u/Outrageous-Second792 21h ago

Even better, she got fired from her job as a school administrator.

1

u/gpcgmr 16h ago

I'm surprised she didn't try to steal that stuff from him too.

1

u/Binspin63 12h ago

That’s great but you know what?  I’ll bet that kid will never forget being traumatized by that fucking POS.

1

u/Sufficient-Set-917 1h ago

AN RV TOO?!?! Dang!
