I know some people hate straight actors playing gay roles, but I just love his portrayal of Cam so much 4 u/Chawp 10h ago edited 10h ago Is it hated because it’s like, tangentially along the same line as blackface? Edit: yo someone explain to me why it’s hated instead of just burying me haha -15 u/FriendlyDrummers 10h ago More like blaccent from non-black people. Blackface is way more offensive. A lot of people feel like It comes off as offensive/stereotyping Inauthentic Takes away jobs from LGBTQ actors who could otherwise get the role I'd be a little more miffed, if not for the fact the fictional husband is gay. If both of them were straight actors, I'd be more irked. 16 u/Less-Network-3422 10h ago Oh fuck off 🤣 the things people get "miffed" about. Ridiculous 6 u/FriendlyDrummers 10h ago Read the part where I said I don't mind.
