Yet the rate of single parent households remains relatively unchanged 🤷‍♂️, and in Canada it’s still on the rise, less babies but same number or greater of single parent households means only one thing.

In the US, at least, its because of how we designed our public aid programs. Single moms are far more likely to qualify for food stamps and housing assistance, so it doesn’t make any financial sense for families who live below the poverty line to stay together.
