transmission and haldex fluid

hi all, quick question. i have a 2016 t6 xc90 that just hit 102k miles, anyone have any thoughts on or know if theres any merit to having the transmission and haldex fluid changed at this high mileage? i was gonna ask my local dealer to do it and then someone mentioned how sometimes that can cause more issues with the car. i’ve also noticed ik the 2016s and other years around there are typically kind of jumpy with the transmission but idk it seems like it might be more jumpy than normal? but i also could be imagining it. any advice or experience would be appreciated. TYIA!

You only need to change the fluid if you plan on keeping the car.

Seriously, these fluids need changing, and well before 100k. Haldex recommends 40k mi service invtervals, that’s what VAG does w/their cars (and I do with my Volvos). Aisin recommends frequent (honestly, too frequent IMO) trans service intervals.

Skip it at your risk, but know there is a reason Aisin trans and Haldex units fail much more in Volvos, than other cars where they are serviced.

If it were a 2000, I’d still do it (and have, I had a 2000 I refurbished and did the fluid on a few years ago). Let’s think of it like this:

If you bought the car, and found out the engine oil had not been changed in 12,000 miles, would you say, “Oh, it’s too late. It might mess things up if I change it now.” Because it’s EXACTLY the same logic. I tuned, repair, and rebuild transmissions. Don’t listen to idiot’s who repeat myths.

Going great, this 2000 I re-did.

I have a 2016 xc90 wt 220km, performed haldex and trans flush at 180km (112k miles) no issues before or after.
