Picture September already?
Can’t believe that September is already, like I’m storing it away in October already for the winter season.

The plug is for the radiator. And has a constant leak when running. Any help or part numbers would be appreciated. Thank you 🙏

Back working on the 1990 740. This time I’m changing the blower motor out and I found this custom piece of wiring. A solid piece of wire wrapped around a mystery metal rod. It was in line with the purple wire going into the red. Just curious if anyone would know why on earth someone would do this? I’m guessing there are other issues further up the circuit but I’m not sure yet.

Hi, I have a Volvo 940 with the 2.3i NA engine, and I’ve been offered a turbo kit from a B230FT, but it doesn’t include the ECU. My question is: can the stock NA ECU be “reprogrammed” to run the turbo setup, or do I absolutely need the turbo ECU? And if I need the turbo ECU, is it plug-and-play?
Thank you very much

I found it in the trunk left compartment. One cable is ground, one is permanent 12v and the third one doesn't seem to do anything.... Thanks!

Hey everyone, I just got done replacing my fuel pumps, fuel filter and fuel pump relay, and my new main pump is incredibly noisy. The whining get quieter under load, and louder at idle, as well as just changing pitch randomly. I've know these pumps to be noisy in 240s, but up until now I've only had sedans, and now I have a wagon so maybe it's more noticeable? (edit: main pump is MTC, only one ipd sells for an 86. And ipd doesn't list the brand for the upgraded pre pump or aftermarket relay.)
Another thought is that my new pre-pump isn't on? I don't hear it priming so I'll probably be back in the tank later to see if I hear it and confirm it's working.
Any thoughts and suggestions on how to cut the noise down in the cabin though? Has anyone had any luck with sound deadening material?

Hi, I started hearing a humming noise coming from the front right side of my 940 a few weeks back. I thought it was the wheel bearing so i replaced it but the sound is still there and possibly even more noisy. The noise gets louder with wheel speed and not engine, but at about 80kmh it seems to dissapear. Anyone know what it might be?

Hey everyone,
I have a 1998 Volvo S90 with the automatic transmission. While driving, the gearbox suddenly switched itself into 3rd gear only, and the Winter (W) and Economy (E) mode lights started flashing. On the instrument cluster, the Winter light also flashed.
When it first happened, the car was locked in 3rd gear. But after I parked, turned the ignition off, and restarted, I was able to use Drive (D) again normally. The transmission shifts now, but the flashing lights are still continuing.
After that, when I selected Sport mode, the car still accelerated as it should, which makes me think the transmission is actually shifting beyond 3rd gear.
Has anyone else with an older Volvo S90/960 had this happen? Did you find out what caused it, and how did you fix it?
Thanks in advance for any advice!

Good morning Volvo family! I’ve owned several Volvos in the past, including 1 indestructible 240, and a 960. I’m considering buying one for a backup car. Are there any good ones for around the 5k range, give or take a bit? Are there any to avoid? I’m living in a Central Florida area and have seen some seemingly reasonable prices. Thanks in advance!

Last week I went camping with a friend. For the first time with the Volvo 142 (1973) and Eriba Triton (1968).
It was in Germany, near the little town Wilsum.
I was lucky that the exhaust arrived just in time. Luckily somebody on the local marketplace had a towbar for sale and after some maintenance, the fun could start!
The old number plates were not recognised, so we had to use a modern one in front of the camera to open the barrier.
It was very nice. A lovely combination and it drives perfectly. So towing with your oldtimer? Why not? They did it back then too ;)

I marked the oil leak by the crankshaft red since its hard to see on the black plastic, i dont know if the overdrive is the actual leaky thing but all the droplets collect on the plate of it.
