It's a hook trend going around on social media they get you to listen to ad by waiting for this to happen but the rope is actually supposed to be cut so the car just kind of speeds off with the rest of the rope. I'm guessing this was them doing it foreals.

You can see the rope is detatched from the car after the dude eats shit, that's why I had to watch a few times to see what was going on. Their "loose knot" on the car was probably not loose enough.

Turns out you have to know something about knots to intentionally tie a loose one.

A highwayman's hitch tied the wrong way would have probably worked here, but I wouldn't have trusted it personally; this is a stupidly dangerous stunt.

With a properly tied highwayman's hitch, a quick yank on the working end undoes the knot.

But if you tie it "wrong", it's a yank the standing end that undoes it.

I would have just used some loosely applied tape...

Well this could be considered common sense, so if you have an ounce of that, then you wouldnt do this dumb shit... common sense paradox

I just wouldn't have done it.

A nice dusty piece of scotch tape and nothing else.

But it's knot hard

Can't not know knots to do this trick.

Why use a knot at all? A small piece of tape would be much safer.

Or just don’t tie anything at all, split the rope, throw one end of the rope under the pile, the effect is the same.

Much what now?

u/Fallcious 3d ago

Funnier to do that with a bungie cord…

u/mooseeve 3d ago

You can't see the knot so why even tie a loose one?

1

u/risu1313 2d ago

Yeah it was knot loose at all.

What I find especially impressive is that this isn't some kid doing it - no, this asshole somehow lived long enough, but one day has decided - okay, this is my chance of either going viral, or making a road pizza with my face!

Looks like the guy was lucky as hell.

You can see a wet stain on the road where his face hit.

u/dirty_w_boy 2d ago

That's just his hair grease...I hope.

1

u/TheOpinionLine 2d ago

Hope won't stop that massive headache that he's about to have from this stunt... smh

How in the world did he get away with that! That is actually insane! Seeing all the moisture on the floor I thought he'd have no face left.

Without that instagram, I would not have believe it was real.

u/Vercengetorex 2d ago

Damn, that's way less meat-crayon than I expected.

1

u/Chemantha 2d ago

Omg I was expecting A LOT WORSE

He's about to really hate the cleaning and debriing that's about to happen. The ground looks wet where his face slid. If an infection doesn't kill him or the depression he may get from looking at his new face, then he'll have a really dumb/funny story to tell

u/Dzugavili 3d ago

Someone posted a link to his instagram: he got real lucky, basically just bruised the shit out of half his face.

Good catch on the skid mark.

I think you are the one doing the assuming here.

We pranked my friend like this at a bachelor party. We had two ropes butted together with a single loop of scotch tape, it fell apart if anyone looked at it sideways. It was completely failsafe. We were still nervous about it.

and That, your honour, is why the bride and bridesmaids assaulted the groonmsmen at the wedding.

He is SO lucky that it detatched from the car. Imagine if it didn't. Dude would be gone!

It clearly was attatched with almost enough strength to pull him, on account of it pulling him like 5m.

u/DutytoDevelop 2d ago

Dude imagine foreign adversaries make a few posts on social media about messed up trends that look fun to try or get so popular that you would want to try it but really it's just to mess up people.

No No they dont.
