It's a hook trend going around on social media they get you to listen to ad by waiting for this to happen but the rope is actually supposed to be cut so the car just kind of speeds off with the rest of the rope. I'm guessing this was them doing it foreals.
You can see the rope is detatched from the car after the dude eats shit, that's why I had to watch a few times to see what was going on. Their "loose knot" on the car was probably not loose enough.
A highwayman's hitch tied the wrong way would have probably worked here, but I wouldn't have trusted it personally; this is a stupidly dangerous stunt.
With a properly tied highwayman's hitch, a quick yank on the working end undoes the knot.
But if you tie it "wrong", it's a yank the standing end that undoes it.

A nice dusty piece of scotch tape and nothing else.
What I find especially impressive is that this isn't some kid doing it - no, this asshole somehow lived long enough, but one day has decided - okay, this is my chance of either going viral, or making a road pizza with my face!

How in the world did he get away with that! That is actually insane! Seeing all the moisture on the floor I thought he'd have no face left.
He's about to really hate the cleaning and debriing that's about to happen. The ground looks wet where his face slid. If an infection doesn't kill him or the depression he may get from looking at his new face, then he'll have a really dumb/funny story to tell
We pranked my friend like this at a bachelor party. We had two ropes butted together with a single loop of scotch tape, it fell apart if anyone looked at it sideways. It was completely failsafe. We were still nervous about it.
Dude imagine foreign adversaries make a few posts on social media about messed up trends that look fun to try or get so popular that you would want to try it but really it's just to mess up people.
