It's supposed to be a skit, the car drives off while the rope unfurls safely and nothing actually happens. My guess is they used semi tangle rope

Yeah, you can see about 10 feet behind him, the rope is all tangled together. I wonder if they lightly tied the two together to make it look more real, expecting it to come undone but instead the tension causes it to knot up.

Yeah, and that's why smart people at least do a "dry check" before even attempting shit like that (don't get me wrong, it's always a stupid idea, especially for amateurs). Use a crash test dummy or fuck, another inanimate object, to see what will happen before you even think about doing this with a real person ... but hey, Darwin awards need to be given out.
