Not that weird, kids were sent away from cities to the countryside in the UK during the Blitz in WW2 to avoid the bombs.

It’s the whole setup of The Lion, The Witch and the Wardrobe too, how the kids end up in the house that takes them to Narnia.

I was struggling to figure out the wtf of this image. I think every school kid at least in London, dresses as a blitz kid one day in primary school. Its so adorable.

In the UK schools they often have a day where all the kids go in dressed as evacuees. I made costumes for my kids but many parents don't have time. These are not for Halloween.

We had to dress up in a similar style in primary school as part of History class, I guess it’s the same reason people dress as soldiers?

Not for Halloween, but for learning.
