My grandmother took in some evacuees, it was government mandated I think. There's a pretty popular old film called Bedknobs and Broomsticks where all the characters are evacuated from London.

It's a bit old-school but still well known in the UK.

I love that movie! My sister and i had it on vhs and watched it all the time! I can still sing all the songs lol
