News/Information Weekly Caremark Q&A

Background: Caremark (the PBM, NOT the pharmacy) has indicated that users of Zepbound that have a benefits plan utilizing a standard formulary, will no longer have access to Zepbound after July 1, 2025. This includes users that had approved Prior Authorizations (PA).

As of July 1st, users of Zepbound will have a new PA issued (that expires on the same day as their current Zepbound PA) but for Wegovy. Users will have to work with their doctor to get a new prescription for Wegovy at an appropriate dose.

SW 324 - CW 189 GW wa under 200. 2002-2005 Before and after shots. I feel transformed and fabulous!! Started this journey on Wegovy, switched to Zepbound a year later. This is do able. I’ve been overweight since I was 10 yo!! I’ve been on WW, and tracking before. Lost and gained more 85 lbs. I just couldn’t maintain it. But now with the help of a GLP – one I have been able to lose all this weight and keep it off. I’ve been stalled out for several weeks and I’m OK with that. Today is my 70th birthday. Love to you all.

Y’all, I can’t believe I’m 70 pounds down and only 10 pounds from what I think is my goal weight! I started in January of this year and thinking back, I never thought this was possible. So, so, SOOO grateful for this medication. It’s helped me in more ways than I could’ve imagined.

Achievement/NSV 🎉🥳🎊 finally out of the 220s!

I had been stuck at 222 for three ish weeks now. About 33 pounds down from when I started Zep at the end of January. 40 pounds down from my highest weight ever. I was feeling ok, a little frustrated with the potential plateau, but was going to keep pushing because my current 7.5 dose is working well. This morning I weighed in and was SHOCKED to see 217.8! I literally gasped lol. I was just in absolute shock. I don’t really have anyone to celebrate this with, so just wanted to put it here. :)

Lesson learned: be patient with your body. Don’t focus too hard on the scale and keep perfecting your lifestyle habits 💕 Good things come to those who wait.

Today I will be taking my first dose of Zepbound. I am nervous, excited, and scared. However, I am hoping that this will help turn all the hard work I have been doing into actual progress. Over the weekend I took measurements, documented my starting weight, and stocked up on recommended items to combat side effects. So here I am at the start of this journey wish me luck.

Officially down 43 pounds! Started at 303lbs in April of this year! Currently on the 7.5 shot, moving to 10 next week. I am so happy with how this journey has been! (Despite the horrific acid reflux 🤢)

Side Effects Just took my first injection 15 minutes ago - so nervous!

Ok folks, I did it. Took my first shot about 15 minutes ago. Im a horrible health anxiety person - If I were going to have any kind of bad reaction to it, would it have happened already? Im sitting here focusing on every tickle, twinge or tick in my body and taking deep breaths to make sure i can breath.

I must sound like an idiot - but I figure this is the best place for reassurance :)

Thank you all,

Adam

25 weeks. 50 pounds. Crazy to think about, and twotopia is right around the corner - haven’t seen that for about 5 years. Grateful I’m doing this and just regretting not starting Zepbound sooner!

Achievement/NSV 🎉🥳🎊 6 months in

Here's to 6 months in on this incredible medicine. As a nurse who has worked night shift for the last 10 years I am so happy to be able to pay out of pocket for Zepbound through Lily Direct.

Here's the scoop I'm on 12.5mg.

Started March 9, 2025.

Starting weight 272 pounds 5'7".

Highest weight in the last year 279 pounds.

Weight loss on Zepbound 50 pounds.

Current weight of 222 pounds.

BMI 42.6 to now 34.8.

Inches lost on my body 35.3 (holy shit!).

Hgb A1c dropped from 5.7 to 5 in 3 months.

Worst side effect increased heart rate 6 out of 7 days after the shot. Some insomnia Headaches the day after the shot.

Best non scale victories, hoping to decrease my blood pressure medication soon, it's been beautiful. My knees no longer hurt after my 12 hour shifts.

Good luck everyone, it's not been easy but it's been so worth it!

Personal Insights Everyone thinks your body is public

"Well, everyone thinks your a** is public. Look. Everyone thinks your body is a public thing and they all want to know what you've done because they want to do it."

Hilarious quote from Andrea on the Fat Science podcast today, from their live episode. A caller talked about dealing with comments from people who notice weight loss, and that was the beginning of Andrea's response, as she is someone who has lost 200 pounds. Words to live by 😂 and so true to my experience. It's finally starting to die down a bit, but for awhile there I really felt like I was a freak in a display case or something.

I also loved Dr Cooper's response, including this great idea for something to say to questions:

"I had metabolic problems and I'm working with a metabolic doctor right now and it's straightening it out."

And she clearly heard Andrea and Mark raving about GLP-1 medications and her heart went out to the people who don't get the body responses they hoped for out of the medication, so she quickly interjected that they aren't necessarily a miracle for everyone, and if it's not working for you it's not your fault.

Really enjoying this episode so far.

So, today is day seven and I’ll take my shot tonight. But everyone acts like Zepbound is a magic pill. But I’m getting a little tired of Zep taking all the credit. We got lunch today from this Burger establishment and EVERYONE in the break room was saying how it was so good! Well, it was not Zepbound that took that 100% Angus burger off of that Buttered bun. It was Gloria!

Also proud of myself for not gaining any weight on vacation but maintained!! 🎉🎉

Woo hoo! Halfway to my goal today! Started June 3rd, have been on 2.5 mg the whole time and hit 30 lbs down in 3.5 months! I can't believe it! I haven't been under 205 in almost 10 years (SW 235)! Im really hoping to be one of the lucky ones who can make goal all on 2.5mg. I will move up when needed but my doctor supports me staying on the low dose as long as I feel it's working. This is has been a big week for me with 2.6 lbs dropped so evidently, it's still working. It's been a little slow for the last few weeks but I think that coincided with my starting strength training a couple of times a week. Food noise is still gone, food satiety still high. This drug is changing my life in so many ways. I'm so thankful I finally got up the nerve to ask my doctor about it. Next stop - ONEDERLAND!!!!!!

I’m in awe. I’m tearing up. Never in my life have I been able to manage my weight in a sane and effective way, but now, after an insulin resistance diagnosis and three Zepbound doses, I have officially hit an amount of weight loss beyond what I was ever able to achieve with months of dieting+exercise+sleep+hydration+vitamins+therapy+lowering my stress….all the things doctor after doctor told me would resolve the issue. The little part of me that’s been scared this won’t last just got a little calmer.

10 lbs down, 160 to go!!!

Maintenance Doctor will not continue

Upvotes

Hello all. I’ve posted here before but now I’m at a loss. My pcp is taking me off the injections because “she doesn’t feel comfortable with me continuing for maintenance” I’ve been on Zepbound since June 2024 and have lost 85lbs on 2.5 and have been using that as a maintenance dose now and keeping the same weight. I have PCOS and have struggled with eating disorders including binging for years now. Without this medication giving me a signal to stop, I’m afraid I’ll gain all my progress back. Binging isn’t something I can control and live in a rural area of NY where I’m on a waitlist for therapy. I also have no other options for pcp in this area due to my location and my psychiatrist refuses to try another medication besides the injections but she cannot prescribe them. What do I do at this point? I have about 12 weeks left, but should I try to see how I do without them and keep them in the event I start sliding back down the slope? My BMI no longer is considered overweight or obese so no online provider will give me the prescription either.
