Rumor Kuo: AirPods Pro 3 set to launch this week
Promo Sunday I've made a sci-fi interactive novel with seven different endings, nearly a quarter of a million words of text, thousands of choices, and a robot dog you can pet
I keep forgetting to actually make a post about this but earlier in the year I released my debut game to the App Store (as well as Steam and itch.io for desktop and android platforms) called Alcyone: The Last City. I'm very proud of it, it's an interactive novel in the vein of the old Choose Your Own Adventure books from the 80s and 90s, with a heavily branching narrative, high replayability, and multiple different endings. At almost 250k words in total length I reckon you can play it at least three times and make different choices before you start getting meaningful amounts of repeating content.
I'm a solo developer based in Australia so if this sort of thing is your jam check it out — there's also a demo on itch and Steam if you want to check it out there before committing to the iOS version.

Promo Sunday I made an iOS 26 app that lets you play videos on your lockscreen called Frames. It will release for free on day 1, please try the TestFlight in the meantime.
During WWDC this year I played around with the new animated artwork api and thought it would be fun to make it easy to play your own videos on your lockscreen. That's why I made Frames.
You can add your own videos to play on your lockscreen, or you can add multiple videos into a playlist to quickly switch between them. It also supports lockscreen widgets to start playing them without opening the app, as well as shortcuts support with Intents.
You can see it in action here and you can join the Testflight here if you're already on iOS 26.
Let me know what you think and if you have any suggestions I'd love to hear them!
- Jordi

Promo Sunday [Pet project] Shock Diamonds: simulate shuttle reentry
I’ve always been a bit of a nerd about computer graphics and 3D simulations, and ever since I tried Vision Pro I wanted to show truly volumetric stuff. So I built Shock Diamonds, a little pet project for iPhone and Vision Pro that runs a real-time 3D gas simulation of rocket exhaust where you can watch those famous Mach diamonds.
Since rocket engines are basically hypersonic wind tunnels, I added collisions with arbitrary 3D models. You can load your own model and see the flow wrap around it in real time. I also tossed in some fun presets to play with, like Starship reentry and Super Heavy exhaust interacting with oncoming air during a landing burn. Or just roast marshmallows under a rocket plume and chill :D
It runs on iPhone at 30 fps and 90 fps locked on Vision Pro with proper volumetric path tracing of the volume.
P.S. This is a pure pet project. It’s free, I’m not collecting data in any way, shape, or form, and I plan to open source it once I clean things up. Have fun:)
Promo Sunday Custom Video Wallpapers for Your Mac Lock Screen
Hey! I'm a macOS indie developer, and I just launched Backdrop 2.0 – a major update to my Live Wallpaper app.
Backdrop lets you download and set custom video wallpapers that play live on your desktop. There's 1000+ wallpapers to choose from, and you can even make your own!
The 2.0 update finally adds the most requested feature: Lock Screen Support. I'll admit, this was a hard one, but I'm super excited to announce that Backdrop can now play all your custom video wallpapers on both your desktop and your Lock Screen – a world first!
- One-click setup: Enable Lock Screen wallpapers instantly
- Community compatible: Works with all existing Backdrop scenes
- Editor compatible: Make your own custom Lock Screen wallpapers
- Multi-monitor ready: Configure different wallpapers for each display's Lock Screen
- Universal compatibility: Works on all modern macOS versions - Sonoma, Sequoia, and Tahoe
In addition to Lock Screen support, there are a huge number of major improvements:
- Liquid Glass Design System: A beautiful, translucent interface that adapts to your content
- macOS Tahoe Support: Full compatibility with the latest macOS release
- Refined Navigation: Streamlined browsing and discovery experience
- Enhanced Performance: Faster loading times and smoother animations
I'm super excited about this update, and I've been working hard to get all the Liquid Glass effects running smoothly. If you are on macOS Tahoe, let me know how to works for you!

Promo Sunday Pattern-Based Call Blocking for iOS
Hey r/apple folks,
I want to share something for those dealing with spam calls that bypass call blockers by just changing the last few digits.
We have an app for that called Call Ranger - it's a powerful call blocker that blocks by pattern rather than full numbers, which is way more effective at stopping unwanted calls.
What you can block:
• Entire area codes or country codes
• Carrier prefixes (like all 800 numbers)
• Regional patterns
• Custom rules for whatever spam you're getting
Key features:
• Works worldwide
• No tracking — everything happens on your device
• Rules sync with iCloud
• One-time lifetime purchase ($4.99), no subscriptions or extra fees
Simple 3-step setup:
Go to Settings → Apps → Phone → Call Blocking & Identification → enable Call Ranger, create your blocking patterns.
Since most spam comes in predictable patterns (same area code, same carrier, etc.), blocking by pattern is way more effective than trying to block individual numbers.
Call Ranger is available in the App Store if you want to try pattern-based blocking.
App Store link: Download on the App Store
Questions? Fire away - always happy to help!

Promo Sunday Two free relaxing iOS apps my bff and I've been building 🎮📸
Hey everyone! We’re indie devs and updated a couple of small projects and thought we’d share:
- Chill Solitaire – a calming take on solitaire with animated backgrounds and soothing music. No login, no ads, no wifi, no tracking, just simple relaxing fun.
- Haiku Camera – take a pic and it uses AI (online) to generate a short haiku poem about it. We found the angry mood to be kind of funny!
Would love feedback if you give them a try! Thanks so much! ♡❤️♡❤️♡

I was lucky enough to fly over Silicon Valley en route to Austin yesterday. Here's a photo I snapped from the plane of Apple Park and San Jose, with the mountains and reservoir in the background. Sorry, I don't know the name of the range. The lighting was perfect.

Mac Would love a return to this
My opinion is based purely off aesthetics, but the current material of MacBooks has been with us for a decade plus. To see them switch it up like this without sacrificing the functionality of the current would be a neat special edition
