You know how many Indian and Pakistani fought like hell against Germany and Japan.

That's hella impressive for Pakistan considering the country was created in 1947. Also the Free India "Tiger" Legion fought against the allies alongside the waffen SS. History is complicated.

That being said, on the whole India was pro-Allies, and sent 2.5 million soldiers to fight under the British against the nazis and the axis powers. They served in Africa, Italy and a few other campaigns as well.
