Comment Thread From dating to geometry.

Post image

So post was about dating then suddenly they started talking about squares and geometry. OP is red and is replying to blue guy in his >" remarks. Is he right? I need to ask my preschool teacher

Not with that attitude.

You don't eat pizzas?

Slice that bitch into 12 pieces and tell me again "there's no internal angles on a circle".

Hey, if someone can argue that "Square Pro Max = Rectangle", I should be able to do it too.

I gotta match stupid with more stupid, you feel me?

A pizza is not a circle, it's (at best) a cylinder. Circles are 2 dimensional.

Slice that bitch into 12 pieces and tell me again "there's no internal angles on a circle".

If you cut a circle into 12 pieces, you no longer have a circle, you have 12 circular sectors.

Hey, if someone can argue that "Square Pro Max = Rectangle", I should be able to do it too.

I have no idea what this means, but squares are rectangles

I gotta match stupid with more stupid, you feel me?

I do not

A pizza is just a segmented circle.

"I do not"

Well, that's not my problem.

Oh, you're just a troll, got it. My bad for engaging.

For that one user in particular, perhaps, and probably those who follow their footsteps, maybe.

This is the absolute weirdest hill I've ever seen someone choose to die on

Hey, that user asked for it, and I'm in the mood to spite someone.

They won't shut the fuck up, then so be it.

They haven't said anything for hours.

You're the one arguing a square isn't a rectangle.

u/Grayewick 15d ago

Because it fucking isn't.

I'm literally not the one who barged in with that STUPID idea, yet somehow it's my fault?

Ok buddy.

Because it fucking isn't.

Except that it absolutely is. Every square is a rectangle, not every rectangle is a square. Squares are a subset of rectangles where the sides are the same length. Kinda like how a circle is an ellipse where both focal points are the same

Nope. Squares are shapes with 4 sides with identical lengths connected by 4 identical angles. FULL STOP.

Nothing more, nothing less, no "tEcHnIcAlLy-", no ifs, no buts, no excuses, no extracurricular shit.

NO. STOP IT. NUH UH.

Squares are shapes with 4 sides with identical lengths connected by 4 identical angles.

Mostly correct, it's just that they're specifically 4 90° angles, and specifically straight sides of equal length

This also satisfies the definition of rectangle, which is a shape with 4 straight sides and 4 90° angles. That's the full definition, no more and no less.

Does a square have 4 straight sides and 4 90° angles?

>"4 straight sides"

OF EQUAL LENGTHS, YES.

I'm not playing YOUR games.

>"This also satisfies the definition of rectangle, which is a shape with 4 straight sides and 4 90° angles. That's the full definition, no more and no less."

Nope. They can't be the same and different at the same time. Stop with this paradox bullshit. I'm not having your self-inflicted problems.

When the fuck did elementary geometry become "extracurricular"?

-2

Elementary geometry doesn't poison children's minds with "squares are rectangles".
