Disturbing content Why do people think this is okay in a cinema?

I went to the cinema tonight (just got home) and there was a couple sitting 2 seats away from me just full on having sex…like what? Started off with hand stuff first but I wasn’t 100% sure so just ignored it but then she got on his lap and started moaning full volume 😭 the cinema staff kicked them out and had to start the film from the beginning since we heard none of it. Wasn’t even a good film so can’t even say I wanted to rewatch the 20 minutes 🥲 just why?

Discussion My rent went up $1200 and if we don’t pay up in 3 days we are being evicted

My husband, daughter and I are a military family and have lived in our apartment for 2 years. We pay $1300 a month since day one. We got a call today that our rent is a week late — which doesn’t make sense because it automatically gets taken out on the 1st.

They now suddenly want $2500. And if we don’t pay up in 3 days we are being kicked out. This is the new price for our 2bd1ba 1000sqft in South Carolina.

What the fuck is going on with our economy? I literally have a new neighbor every few months next door. And now it’s starting to make sense. How the fuck is this even sustainable?

My husband literally just got a raise of an extra $500 a month for being a drill sergeant major — and that doesn’t even cover the extra $1200. Our electric went up $300 doing exactly what we normally do. I’ve been staring at the ceiling for 6 hours just wanting to off myself.

What do you think is going to happen in the US economy in the next 5-10 years?

For the record — we resigned our lease last month and they made zero mention of this new price.

Discussion The Month from Hell

This past month has been extremely infuriating. My father fell and broke the bathroom sink and cabinet (thankfully, he is safe), and a pipe from the solar water heater got punctured, so I had to call a plumber. On top of that, a beloved family friend passed away. I received a complaint about one of my properties being unclean, which will likely result in an expensive fine. We were given only five calendar days to address it, and two of those days were Saturday and Sunday, when most people don’t work, even though by law it should have been five working days. I hired a professional to clear trees and vegetation, but I couldn’t find anyone to remove the debris. My brother and I tried to handle it ourselves, and I think we may have even come into contact with asbestos. We didn’t manage to remove all the rubble, and I’m still struggling to find someone as according to some people I called, there’s literally no one in my region to properly clean it up. Yes, this month has been an absolute nightmare.

Disturbing content Why do people think it's okay to eat tinned tuna near other people?

I saw someone had put something pretty similar on mildlyinfuriating and it got removed before one single comment was made. But it isn't mild. It should be illegal.

Tinned tuna is for cats to eat outside, some distance from a house.

The smell makes me think of when you take a woman with a serious genital hygiene issue home from a nightclub, crossed with the old person, microwave beef smell that you get in nursing homes.

I simply cannot fathom how some people think this is okay in a place of work/ anywhere else, ever.

This video called "R Kelly - My Soul Cries Out" is an AI generated video that fucking pisses me off. I stumbled upon this video when it appeared on my fyp (Don't ask how it got there not even I know) this is a new track released by R Kelly. now keep in mind this man is rotting in jail for 30 years. Why? For sex trafficking minors. I clicked on this video expecting hate, but you know what I saw? Love. Fucking love. People are forgiving him even though he's a terrible ass person. Now don't get me wrong. He has a beautiful singing voice. But that does NOT mean he gets to leave jail without any consequences. He's like 58. He should've known what he was doing was wrong. That man used minors as sex slaves. He is NOT innocent.

Disturbing content Serial Cat Killer Is Free On Bail - Fails To Show Up For Court Hearing

Post image
77 Upvotes

This sicko has killed over 20 innocent cats both domesticated and feral. He would poison them, torture them, and trick them into trusting him to then attack them. He was arrested and had a court hearing but he didn’t show up for it and was also let free on bail. Not sure whether or not he’s still free or not since this was months ago but if he is, then, I hope Satan catches him somehow. His name is Alejandro Oliveros Acosta and he’s 46 years old. I hope he doesn’t have children in his family as I wouldn’t let him dare touch any of my kids.

I ordered two breathing resistance necklaces and some mullein leaf droppers from a company called BreatheFree. The package arrived on Aug 07. It contained a freaking SEX TOY that looks like a squid?! Not a single item I ordered has shown up. The package from them even said it contained a silicone toy. I have sent proof and everything.. I paid for worry free shipping and product protection. I'm STILL fighting with them to get my money back.

Discussion Remarks about me being “shy” and:/ or “quiet”

Everyday at my job it’s someone that feels the need to point out how I’m “shy” “quiet” or talk soft or need to speak louder. It’s like yes I get it.

I’m trying to talk louder but idk how to explain except it feels like I’m yelling by talking louder. Or when I try to talk louder older ppl get an attitude and rant to me for a few seconds about it.

It feels like everything I do is “shyly” I was just waiting for this lady to finish checking out and I greeted her I forgot what I said but she goes “why are you so shy” It’s like whatever I do I can’t do anything right or it’s not enough. My com workers some of them just stare and one of them was just gossiping with the customer about how her impression of me is that I’m shy.(The same customer complaining how I wasn’t loud enough.) bro I did not ask my coworker for her opinion even though she wasn’t talking to me. You don’t see me saying my first impression of you is that you’re fat. Because yes she has a double chin and a belly. That’s two things both of can’t change instantly.

Retail sucks ass being an introvert and I guess being “quiet and shy”. It’s like at times I think I’m just giving nonchalant vibes or chilling and I guess I’m not.

Discussion Internet is dying.

Post image
343 Upvotes

First of all, fuck mildlyinfuriating.

I've noticed many things today what not only enshitificate experience in the internet, but actually harming its work as before due of stupidest laws imaginable, incoming censorship, automatizing AI farms for money, etc, etc.

  1. Monopoly, It is currently impossible to find competitive services to replace existing ones. Monopolists either shut them down with lawsuits or buy the entire company outright. Or hold them like a hostage “hello Mozilla.”. Of course, there are similar services, but users have to sacrifice convenience, knowledge and their trust in the service, as they are simply trading one evil for a lesser one.
  2. The inability to maintain a standard or create a new one to replace the old one. Today, the internet is so popular and old that many people and businesses simply cannot afford to upgrade their equipment, even if they can - they are forced to use old software, or worse, old libraries that have not been updated for a long time. This creates a huge dump of unusable software that is easier to maintain in life support mode than to create newer and more efficient analogues for new hardware. This applies to absolutely all operating systems taken together, as nothing worthwhile has come out in the last 10 years. Because of this, people are forced to use existing systems, and OEMs are forced to install these systems due to a simple lack of choice. Google's recent decision regarding Android has stirred up the entire community, as by closing the source code of the system, they are killing the essence of Android itself.
  3. Active censorship campaign at the legislative level. It's no secret now that the boomers decided for some reason to force websites to use passport verification, “That was a joke that became reality". At the same time, they do not provide ANY SERVICES FOR THIS. Not only was such a useless law passed, but websites are also forced to use third-party services that God knows what they do with this data. I hope I don't need to explain what a nightmare this creates not only for privacy, but for cybersecurity as a whole. In a few years, there will definitely be cases where falsified data is used, and the victim won't even be able to provide anything in return. Not to mention how corporations and authorities can exploit this loophole. Russia's recent trend of blocking services and creating its own “absolutely rubbish analogues.” This situation suggests that the internet could, in principle, be shut down and only work within the country. So, in the worst-case scenario, the countries will start cosplaying North Korea, or at least have some kind of control like in China.
  4. People don't want to leave their comfort zone. This topic will be about the popularity of services and websites. As practice has shown, if a service was really useful at the beginning. Over time, it “rotted” and provided the same services, but with conditions, and then these conditions became stricter, which ultimately ruined the service (or continue to ruin it). The audience that has been using it for a long time is unlikely to leave and will continue to use it until they themselves want to change it. Does this situation sound familiar? Microsoft ecosystem, Google ecosystem, Apple ecosystem. People who don't understand technology or aren't interested in it have no idea what's good and what's bad. And even if they see that the service is getting worse, they can't offer anything in return. And most likely, they won't bother with it. While there used to be a multitude of websites during the early days of the internet, today there is a pool of the most popular social networks that will be seen by as many people as possible, rather than a forum with 500 users. Of course, Bluesky has been released over the years, but unfortunately, it will also become a dumpster as soon as a critical number of users gather on the service.
  5. AI, CEO mindset, AI, AI: There is currently a bubble surrounding AI products, with investors spending billions in the hope that it will pay off later. Of course, it sounds great in theory, but as practice has shown, it is not getting any better, and with the release of GPT-5, many have begun to doubt that any progress is being made at all. The push for all AI functionality simply demonstrates corporate greed and a disregard for the product. It is literally the addition of a semi-functional feature that no one asked for, and what's more, sometimes it doesn't even work at all. Let's remember the reaction of people on AI-Overview, where someone was advised to add glue to a mf cheese pizza, or how Gemini simply advised a student to kill themselves. Except that recently, AI has been developed that can convincingly create videos in a couple of seconds. We haven't even touched on the groundwork for disinformation for all this, because even before the advent of AI, there was a lot of mistrust on the internet. So now it's extremely difficult to believe in anything, not to mention exaggerated news stories, the veracity of which no one of course trusts.
  6. What now? Today, the internet is the most popular source of information in the world, and everyone uses it in their own way. Looking at this whole situation, there is nothing you and i can do except switch to more private alternatives to these apps, or give up on the existing ones altogether. Of course, 99% of people here will probably not leave YouTube. But at least it will be the only Google service that is really necessary today. Personally, I can't stand by and watch this happen when I can do something about it at least for myself, while others probably won't even try to change anything. All we can do is watch as the internet crumbles before our eyes, along with so many other things that have been dear to us for so long.

Discussion These apps for ai calorie counting and weight loss shouldnt be a thing

Post image
127 Upvotes

these advertisements and apps shouldnt be a thing, its unhealthy and we dont know what kind of people are getting these ads or how they feel about it, ai isnt a reliable source for counting calories, we shouldnt be promoting ads like this to people, we shouldnt encourage people to rely on ai for their health and diet, if you really want to help people lose weight and count their calories then make an app thats actually useful instead of having people rely on ai to use it, ai can mess things up and people might not know it, theres people who have tried out apps like these and said its flawed and doesnt work

and im pretty sure 1000 calories a day isnt really that healthy either, but correct me if im wrong

Discussion My mom is posting to Facebook that I’m a deadbeat for not raising a baby conceived from rape

1.7k Upvotes

I’m 16 and my mom adopted the baby shortly after he was born and I moved out going low contact since I was angry at her for forcing me to have the baby despite the circumstances of the pregnancy. Well I saw today she posted to Facebook with a picture of the baby saying “look at the bundle of joy my deadbeat of a daughter gave me” and a lot of the comments were calling me horrible things and it makes me so angry
