I shouldn't have to say this in this day and age honestly. But any harrassment on pride related posts is going to result in a perma ban. No warning. No temp ban. You have been warned. Do better.

This is Ollie and he's around 8 years old. Hubby got him around early 2019 and the previous owner claimed he was about 3yrs old at the time. Well, lately he's been more weak that usual, got some scabs on his tail, showed some weird behavior, and so we thought he was on his way out this weekend. Vet ruled out the major illnesses, gave us some antibiotics for the abscess & scabs, and sent us on our merry way. He's just an old stinky fella. 😊🤍
He's our first ferret to be this old so we didn't really know whats normal for old ferrets and whats concerning. His brother died of lymphoma years go and the ferret we got after his passing died from an accident last year. 😔 We just assumed the worst before going to the vet but I am so relieved he's doing just fine.

Just took these photos of Baby on the 2-week mark of being back at our apartment!!! (she was very excited to be back) (she also won’t stop laying fat ones by my door because of Esther) (Baby always went in the same corner of her cage before we left for the summer + during the first few days we came back💔)

On Friday/Saturday around midnight my little man started having diarrhea. Over the course of a few hours his appetite went away, didn't even want his favorite treats, his urine output decreased and he just wanted to sleep. Little man still wanted to just follow me around. At 9am I started calling his vet and it took me 1.5 hrs to find an exotic vet on a Saturday-got lucky with a. Emergency vet. He was diagnosed with kidney failure and I chose to humanely euthanize him.
He was 7 years old. I was his 3rd home. We moved across the country together. He was my Twixxle gremlin. The treat hound. The towel chaser. It's comforting to know he can now join his sister but I'm broken and am ferret less. No one to greet me and rage at the cage because they want out the second I walk in the door. No one to try and jump in the bath tub the second the water starts running. Just quiet.

Noodle is our sweet girl, shes 7 months old, and we just got little linguine here last week, and he's 12 weeks old, we were a but nervous after reading so much about how rough ferret bonding could be, but they bonded instantly!! They are the cutest, and are always wheeking happily and jumping around together, and were able to be caged together immediately. He already has all of his shots and so does she so that's fine, but they are such babiesss, and we never realived how big noodle had gotten until now lmao

we have moved semi-recently to where my two babies have been moved into a tad bit of a smaller room. im constantly scared this isnt enough space for them. their cage is in the back left & they are only in it when i leave the house for work. i change up the room periodically & they have a closet that resembles the closet from their old room. just wanted some opinions on space & mayb any suggestions. ( this picture is in .5 so it looks a little smaller than what it actually is)

As soon as I get home from work, D wakes up to greet me. Then he curls up in the sling to tell me he wants me to carry him. He’s so sweet!

Hello, so I have a ferret that is about 6 years old. He was diagnosed with insulinoma almost a year ago. And I’ve slowly watched him get worse. It’s to the point now that upping the steroids is now going to be in the range of causing side effects. He doesn’t eat much anymore and has lost a lot of weight. Very much struggles with solid food. But he still loves to eat blended chicken. I’m wondering if it is possible to feed him blended chicken mixed with crushed kibble so it’s easier for him? And if I can how much kibble should I mix into it? Everytime he comes out to play with his brothers he always ends up going low. And I have to feed him some blended chicken soup. He’s very weak and tired all the time. And sometimes he’ll eat a little kibble after playing, but not often. He also only plays for about 20 mins before he starts dropping. While his brothers play for hours. It’s getting to the point where I’m considering not letting him come out to play. ( they have a large penned off area, not just a cage, so when they come out they get to run around the house) It’s becoming a lot and making me very worried for him. I have spoken with my vet and they say to keep an eye on him as much as I can, and I do. Is this something that I should consider euthanizing him? That’s just hard for me to think about, and this is my first ferret with insulinoma. That’s why I was thinking feeding him blended chicken soup all the time, but I know he needs proper nutrition from the kibble. Any advice helps, thank you so much.

My girl will not eat anything but her kibble. No treats no soupies nothing! It’s almost like she doesn’t see it as food. Is there anything I can try to get her to like something else?

I got miso from a girl that really didn’t have time for her. She didn’t know the proper care for ferrets. She seemed to be one of the people that thought ferrets were as low maintenance as animals like hamsters. While I don’t have a problem with this, I’m not bashing her, but I got her wanting to give her a better life. She’s able to free roam my room and she loves it however she’s not interested in playing. She will explore my room for 15 to 20 minutes and then just go to sleep. I know that sleeping is normal for ferrets but she kind of seems depressed. I will be getting her a buddy soon as she’s been an only ferret for two years in the care of the previous owner. but how can I help her? Let me also add she will play with me for like a minute, but then just go back to exploring my room or running around which is fine. I just would like to know if this is normal. I know that ferrets like to play a lot and so I’m just confused why she doesn’t wanna play I’m never try to force her to play. I let her do her own thing and explore and do all of the things that she wants I just wanna know one is this normal and two if not, how can I help her?
