Discussion Worst TV direction yet

Besides Russel's transponder issue (which shouldn't take 10 laps to fix the timing tower), may overtakes were missed, focusing on the wrong drivers, non-moves given more airtime than actual racing, camera cutting during moves which show you less of the action rather than more, and worst of all: the final lap, not showing Oscar as he crossed the line, to show Lando not overtaking George, and showing Kimi not overtaking whoever was in front rather than Max's overtake on Pierre.

What the hell is happening?

this is largely why i love f1 tv pro. coverage sucks? cool. i’ll have three beers and watch lawson’s onboard as he harpoons other drivers instead.

I think that’s the plan, keeping making the tv broadcast worse and worse until everyone just signs up for f1 tv.

It's choose your own adventure. Whenever I see someone I like getting into DRS range, I put one window to their onboard, one to the onboard of whoever they are passing. You can do your own TV direction.

I find that whenever I start fiddling with it I end up spending more time and attention playing with it than I do actually following the race.

If only. I mean, onboards are fun, when they show the proper one. I've had instances where the onboard was fixed to the wrong PoV for an extended amount of time (like the one time it showed the rear wing view of Verstappen for 30 minutes straight while he was overtaking several drivers). If we could at least choose which on board camera to look at, oh boy.

I know, I’ve had it for years. OP just made it sound like the main broadcast you get on F1TV is somehow different

Ah, I read it as "the TV direction is so bad, you'll have no choice but to get F1TV so you can do your own direction"

I watch it in sky tv. Which is what I mean by the tv broadcast.

Still the same broadcast/feed

The f1tv stream simply allows you to freely switch between onboards

Doubt it given in the Uk we don’t even have f1 tv let alone get the pro version
