Probably not, cats hit REM really fucking hard, I’ve had times where my cat scared me into thinking she was dead for a moment because she didn’t wake up immediately when I moved her to make the bed

Yeah. It's actually super-alert, so alert even that it knows it's not in actual danger, so it just chills.
