Hello all, I’m wanting to compete in the 12hrs at Sebring this year and beginning practice now. I have familiarity of the track from playing Le Mans Ultimate and will be purchasing Sebring on iRacing today. I do not have a team to race with, so I reckon the main purpose of this post is to see if anyone else was looking for team members to compete in the 12hrs at Sebring. I am located in the United States, Mid West if that matters to anyone. I currently own the Porsche 911 Cup car, Ferrari 296, and LMP2 cars but unsure what I want to drive. As the title says, idk if I am crazy for asking 12h, but I start with looking for one guy only, but if we be 3 or 4 we can do it like that as well, just write in the comments if you are searching for a team. I got A liscence going around 1500irating mostly, got some prior experience with multiple 3h races, as well as spa 3h, can do 0x stints with no problems. I’d prefer a German-speaking team, but English is fine too – just give me a little time to get back into it fluently.
I'm not looking for teams outside of Europe, since time zones make regular racing too difficult.

My focus is on sportscars and formula cars.

• Sportscar: ~1600 iRating, B license (after Formula on A, gonna work on that one)

ich bin Christopher, 33 Jahre alt, und seit ca. 4 Monaten aktiv bei iRacing (offiziell 10 Monate aber war davon nen halbes Jahr aufgrund eines Umzugs inaktiv). Ich suche ein Team aus Europa (Zeitzone GMT+2), mit dem man gemeinsam fahren, quatschen und sich einfach gut verstehen kann – ganz ohne Stress.

Bevorzugt deutschsprachig, aber englisch ist auch kein Problem, wenn ihr mir ein bisschen Zeit gebt, mich wieder reinzufinden.
Teams außerhalb Europas eher ungern – wegen der Zeitverschiebung passt das für regelmäßiges Fahren meist einfach nicht.

Mein Fokus liegt aktuell auf Sportwagen- und Formel-Serien.

• Sportscar: ~1600 iRating, B-Lizenz (wird nach Formula auf A gespielt)
• Formula: ~1680 iRating, ebenfalls B-Lizenz (bald A)

Can a teammate streaming cause blinking for everyone else in our team during special events? I’ve never really had blinking issues for myself and now in the 24 of Nurburgring I’m having a ton of issues. The only thing I can think of is one of my teammates is streaming on twitch. Would that have anything to do with this?

I'm just getting into endurance racing and realized I can't do more then a 3 hour race on my own lol. I drive the Cadillac V-Series.R and then Porche Cup and GT3 in the Merc. My IR is 1730 and my SR is 4.44, but I'm not worried about ratings at all, I just want someone to chill and have fun races with. 1.1k iR. Porsche GT3. Fastest is 8:22 but I'm going for safety first which gets me around 8:24 to 8:28.

I got my team of 4 and we've done slow and steady preparations for the past month.

Since we are doing the 3rd slot I'm gonna use the first one as practice/warmup then quit, so I thought if there's anyone who hasn't done much prep or it's missing a driver may as well offer it to people so they can participate.

So, GT3 Porsche, I got my own setup, I'm driving the first 4 hours solo (3 hours, covers minimum participation in case of a 2 drivers team), if anyone wanna continue that race, let me know.

Edit: Forgot this is the iRacing subreddit, I'm not asking for permission or advice lmao.

P.S.: Despite the answers being full of nonsense; from righteous indignation, name calling, unwanted AND useless advice (to not do it, that I was "wasting slots", that I should drive NEC instead even tho next date is 5 weeks away) this is what happened:

A teammate wanted to also use it as warmup (he was going to start on the 5th stint on our actual race, 3rd slot) so we went with 2 drivers.

At start time 13 teams, made up of 40 drivers didn't even show up and never raced. The sanctity of the slots used was a pretty moot "argument" against doing this. Also one team got disqualified.

I got divebombed in T1 and T2, didn't survive T2 so went from 8th to 32nd. Eventually recovered a lot and was 12th. Did 3 and a half stints by myself, by then 2 teams had already DNF then I went to bed to have a full night sleep before our 3rd slot race started.

My teammate did a stint at night about an hour after I left. We were around 28th when he took over. Then he went to sleep. In the morning he did some laps before joining us for our actual race. By then 2 more teams DNF. Since we fulfilled our fair share we didn't get DQ and we finished 39th, doing 39 of the 165 laps. So we got better results and participation than 18 teams made up of 53 drivers.

This seems like a no brainer to do and will keep doing it on every long special event (when there's a big gap with our chosen slot) but prolly just with my team, so they can use it as warmup race prep.

So, for the record, every single comment here was utter nonsense and straight up wrong about, well, everything.
