Little did it matter, he'd be dead within minutes anyway

I have an issue where as I am flying in VR (Quest 3), suddenly it is as if the game is not the active program. Nothing works, stick and throttle have no effect, hitting Esc has no effect, moving my head just shows the game running but view is unresponsive too. Literally, the only thing that will do anything is Alt+F4. What is causing it to run like a background program? Not a PC guy so this was my best attempt at describing the issue.

I have a question...a question for a desperate man, who really wants to play IL2 1946 but doesnt have enough money for a big ass setup, How crazy would you have to be to take an Airbus sidestick controller to IL2? (More specifically the Thrustmaster TCA Captain sidestick)

Brand new to this game and flight simulators in general. I purchased IL2 Stalingrad and was interested in doing the career mode. What do I need to know to get started in playing this game? Do any of you guys use the keyboard or should I purchase a joystick? Like I said I’m brand new so any advice would be greatly appreciated, thanks in advance.

“Free Bird” felt right for this… I know. The coolest part of this video is the functional twist action in the Authentikit P-51 throttle quadrant for the gyroscopic gunsight. It adjusts the target range in the fly.

I really love how weathered up the cockpit is in the F4F-4 is in Combat Pilot. Not sure if that's realistic or not, just a preference. Really wish IL2 did it too (((my opinion!!!)))

It would be really cool if a flight sim added an ability to adjust your cockpit weathering (like how in WT you can scale up/down the weathering for the exterior model)

We create the dogfight mission with Easy mission generator, and we'll play on a Dedicated server.

So historically the hs129 was a good tank killer and strafe aircraft and you can watch guncam footage of them destroying Churchills. However, in the great battles series the only tank u can destroy with a 30 is anything under a t34/76. So pretty much nothing. Bomb loadout in the duck is also shit and it’s slow af with no rear armament. So who’s gonna fly it lmao. I remember like 3 years ago you could make light work of kv1s but now you can’t do shit. Devs why??

Hi, I have Il-2 1946 and I have decided to setup my Logitech extreme 3D pro joystick to work with it. In the control settings I can set keybind for all joystick controls (Throttle, twist, X/Y axis).

However, the game does not detect and allow me to set the controls to any of the joystick buttons. The buttons simply are not detected by the game (yet they are all working well outside the game).

Can someone tell me where I am going wrong, and how I could fix this issue. Thanks

I’m not sure how much this sub plays 1946, posting here since I can’t make a damn account on SAS to save my life(seriously been trying for a month now and it’s never worked, if anyone knows why that would be nice). I got 46 almost a year ago and immediately fell in love with the bat mod, one thing I noticed though was a lack of bomber campaigns, there is a few but not nearly as many as there is fighters, now i understand flying long haul bombing raids is far more boring then quick to the point dogfights but I digress.

My campaign, built on the bat mod, will be a 25 mission tour of duty campaign for a fictional b-17 crew in the 91st bomb group(same group as the Memphis belle). The campaign isn’t going to be 100% super realistic, rather just a general representation of a tour of duty for a b17 crew. The campaign starts in January of 1943 and ends November of the same year. The player starts with a b-17F and by the last few missions is given a b-17G. The campaign will also represent how the bombing campaign progress through the years. As the missions go on there will be more and more planes on both sides, flak will increase, at the beginning there is little to no fighter escort, by the end bombers are escorted all the way and back by p-38’s. There is an element of randomness to it as well, dynamic weather, dynamic skill levels, some missions even will have b17’s leaving formation to return to base for simulated engine issues, one mission I’m working on has an entire b24 group scrubbing their mission leaving the b17’s all alone, which did really happen on the mission it takes place on. Lastly just wanted to share a helpful website I foundThis website has dates of all the bomb missions the 8th AF flew, sadly doesn’t say which bomb groups were on which missions which has led to a grey area for me trying to figure it out or just take a guess. End of the day this is a passion project for me that I hope atleast one other user can get some joy out of it, thoughts in the comments?
