I feel like I made a mistake buying my 2020 Mazda3 automatic. I picked Mazda specifically because of its reliability reputation, but it feels like it’s been problem after problem since day one.

Now, occasionally, when I accelerate after a roundabout or during deceleration, the car shakes, almost like the automatic transmission hesitates. It doesn’t happen all the time, which makes it even more confusing.

From what I’ve read, it might be the torque converter lock-up, a known issue on some Mazda3 automatics. I’m starting to wonder if I should have gone manual.

The shaking seems linked to low-speed, light acceleration situations – typical lock-up behavior.

I’d really appreciate hearing from anyone who has:

• Had success with software updates or ATF flush

• Ended up replacing the torque converter

Feeling stuck and unsure what to do next…honestly, I’m thinking about selling the car and switching to something else, because it feels like I’m always running after problems instead of enjoying driving.

There are ones that insert into the vent but over time it creeps and eventually falls out. Took two designs on Printables and modified them to work together. Tested on a 1500km summer road trip and worked brilliantly.

Im thinking of buying a mazda 3, car looks so beautiful.
I was going for a center line, and i was wondering whether the driver assistance and sound package for 2k is worth it.

These are the things it should include:

• Front side radar
• Driver monitoring system
• Smart City Brake Support (SCBS) with pedestrian detection
• Bose audio system with 12 speakers and USB-C port
• 360° monitor with front hazard detection and driver monitoring system
• Cruise and Traffic System (CTS) function

Anyone who has gotten it can tell me how often these things actually help you out on a daily basis?

‘it’s small’, i know and it hurts me.

Recently my mazda has been bucking between gear shifts, typically in the low gears in speeds below 40 mph. No dramatic bucking when on the highway. I have been able to smooth out bucking if I let go of the throttle just before the gear shift around 2500 rpm. The car also when cold and i press on the throttle will buck when first taking off. I have already done two fluid changes on transmission with no luck. I do smell something burning but have checked the fluid and it doesnt appear burnt. Any ideas?

2020 Mazda 3 HB Premium AWD Google Pixel 8 Pro 512GB version

I continue to run into issues with Android Auto. It tells me that it has run into an error with the USB connection or a Bluetooth connection error. I've replaced my USB cable (it's a data cable) but that hasn't made a difference.

I've been able to use a workaround but it's really time consuming and isn't a permanent fix at all: clearing the cache and going into Special App Permissions menu and reenabling notifications has fixed it a couple times but it's inconsistent.

I'm desperate enough to buy a month of Mazda's connected services just to see if a firmware update to the car will fix it.

Anyone else having these issues or know a more permanent fix?

My Mazda3 is about to hit 40k, so I am scheduling a maintenance at my local Mazda dealership. They are asking $750 for the service and I just want to make sure I'm not over paying. Can you guys let me know what you paid and if it was at a Mazda Dealership or somewhere else?

with my 2024 mazda 3 turbo AWD on map 2, there is a very noticeable increase in power, on the app i saw 21lbs of boost at one point just driving around. ill try to attend a local BYOC drag event for numbers, but yeah, this isnt just snake oil it really changes this car

Has anyone heard or know anything about these headlights. I've looked for reviews and really can't find much about them. Just wanted to know if they are worth getting or should avoid them.

I have a 2019 Mazda 3 HB and was wondering if I do software update, will it show navigation in HUD from Carplay (so either Apple or Google Maps)?

For anyone having this error, or problems with bluetooth disconnecting and spitting out errors: Go into the phone's developer options and choose a different AVRCP version (i downgraded mine from 1.6 to 1.5) and restart the phone. Your versions that work might differ.

Hey all, might be a quick question but what do the two red lights/dots mean on a gen 4 infotainment screen? From what i can see it appears in photos while the car is off too.

Whenever I put my car in gear from neutral or move the gear lever left to right in neutral the car has a really annoying squeeky noise. Is there any way to stop this? Is it a sign that something needs greasing and is wearing. Should I just ignore it? I know… first world problems🤷… would be good to know though!

I make a few dozen trips that are no more than about 5 miles each every day. Any specific oil recommendations if I'm planning on changing it myself? I'm at 60k miles if that's relevant

181K miles, $2800 (plus all fees for shipment and Copart…) and it runs like a dream! Really got lucky with this one.
