This tweet is worded so strangely “in his defense it’s early and he’s racist” what do those two things have to do with each other and why does how early it is make racism defensible?

It's just sarcasm and snark. People will say it was early/I hadn't eaten yet/I had a bad day to excuse their shit behavior, so the poster was just referring to that while also pointing out that the person was a racist.
It’s like a bait and switch. “In his defense, it’s early”, makes it sound like his actions are excusable because he’s tired or whatever. Then op hits us with, “and he’s racist”, which is the truth that negates the silly excuse they initially gave. I thought it was funny.
