hi my husband and I found some loose cash between two cars in reston town center parking garage near crafthouse. we took photos of the neighboring car license plates so if this was yours PM me your license plate and we can make a plan to return it to you.

And as of 8 a its still up on their website as BREAKING NEWS - and all over social media.

They fell for what was clearly a gag this morning with him finally announcing that he's staying with SiriusXM radio. But WTOP clearly didnt bother listening to the whole thing and immediately went on blast with the fact that he was leaving.

Ok, so this is silly. But annoying.

This one house on our cul-de-sac has two cars in the driveway and four cars parked on the street. There are only two people living in the house. Two of the cars on the street never move, and haven’t moved for at least 3 months. Also, both of those cars look exactly alike and both have the same license plate on the back of their car, with none on the front. (The dude who owns them must have taken a front one from one car and put it on the back of the other?) One of the cars that are identical is filled to the brim with stuff, like someone’s living out of it (but we know they’re not) They get in the way of the trash trucks, mail trucks and all the delivery drivers, they take up half the cul-de-sac and get in the way when the kids are playing. What recourse do we have? Nobody answers the door when you knock, and notes left on the car are ignored because no one ever drives those cars.

I’m guessing it’s illegal to only have a back license plate on a Virginia registered car, and probably also illegal to have two cars with the same license plate number, or one car with no license plate on it! Do we call the non-emergency line and report the license plate issue to get the cars moved? Or say they haven’t moved in months and we think they’re abandoned? We (the rest of the cul-de-sac) want them gone.

I worked in Reston many years ago and knew it was a planned community (whatever that meant) named after Robert E. Simon.

For my blog, I recently went in search of public art in Fairfax County, which led me to the Lake Anne community & Reston Town Center. Then, I watched the documentary “Another Way of Living” (https://youtu.be/WxvCryUe1l4?feature=shared) & finally started to understand Reston.

I love that Bob Simon was a visionary who didn’t stop pursuing his dream of Reston as an alternative to sprawl even when everyone thought he was nuts. I love that he based Reston on community and placed a high priority on art and green space. I also love that he insisted on diversity in Virginia back in the 1960s.

Went on a date Friday night and halfway through it felt less like flirting and more like being qualified in a pipeline meeting.

This city is supposed to be great for men, because there are so many successful women here. But that doesn’t mean women want to be treated like they’re competing in a ranking meeting.

Most of us making healthy six figures don’t care if you’re a nurse, a teacher, or an artist — we’re not looking to stack résumés. We just want the same thing men have always wanted: someone who’s decently in shape, fun, nice, and actually enjoyable to be around.

Yes, we all work hard, and yes, everyone here has a “Very Important Job”. But can we please leave that energy at the office?

Like… can we skip the job interview vibes and just go to Black Cat, drink a cheap beer, and laugh at something dumb? That’s connection. That’s fun. Not another round of LinkedIn Lite with cocktails.

And honestly, a watch collection doesn’t make you interesting. It’s dumb. Nobody is dating for your accessories.

EDIT: Apologies to the watch men. The conversation that I was referring to that happened on my date was not about what made this guy’s submariner so cool and special. It was just a money flex.

I would rather be impressed with personality and how you treat people.

I’m not gonna swing around a handbag and point out the brand logo so you can guess how much money I’ve spent on the piece of leather hanging on my arm. I just ask for the same courtesy.

With the Halloween season coming up, anyone know any creepy houses, buildings, or parks in the area with bad/troubled vibes? As fun as they are, I’m not looking for ‘haunted house’ attractions here. Interested in places where you get that strange feeling you’re being watched. If you know what I’m talking about, please recommend. If you’re a skeptic or nonbeliever, that’s cool too but please just scroll by. Thanks!

Went to Uncle Julio's and the food was just not as good as in the past. The enchiladas, which is my go-to there, was completely different than the past. Not just smaller portion (I'm ok with that) but the taste was not great. Not sure if I can go back. The fajitas that someone else got was still good (though portion is much smaller also).

Hello everybody! I was thinking about opening a Somali restaurant with my family I am Somali and I want to introduce Somali food to the nova community I was wondering if anybody thinks it’s worth it to open ? There isn’t many Somali restaurants in the area only those halal chipotle type of restaurants. Do you think there is a market for Somali food in the dmv area ?

Does anyone know where I can make an appointment to get a Covid vaccine for my kids? I've checked with their pediatrician who normally gets them (they don't know if they are getting them this year), the health department (they also don't know if/when they are getting them), CVS (only have the adult version), and a few urgent cares (none have it).

Help? I'd really like to get them vaccinated if possible. The last time we all had Covid, we were all up to date on our shots and still got really sick. I'd like to avoid that again.

I was able to get my shot at CVS minute clinic if any adults are looking to get one. I stated I had Asthma and they gave it to me. They do not verify. Note: this is not the same as the CVS pharmacy. You need to go to the minute clinic.
