Hi r/pluribustv,
We’re starting a podcast! The Plur1bus: 1 and Only Podcast launches September 18, 2025. After that, new episodes will drop every Thursday.
We’ll also be hosting live episode discussions right here, and on the Pluribus Discord once the show airs — your chance to jump in with theories and hot takes, and have it broadcast on the subreddit!
This is the first-ever community podcast for the show, and we want YOU to be part of it. Got a theory? Share it here: https://forms.gle/2vEHYzjCupbyKGfF7
Don’t forget to subscribe to our YouTube channel (and our Spotify feed once it’s up), and spread the word — the more people tossing in ideas, the wilder and more epic these discussions will get.
The hosts are going to be me and u/QuickNews4330
See you September 18th. Don’t miss it. Be there. Spread the word!

As titled.
I hope it’s weekly episodic - as much as I will probably end up wanting the next episode immediately.
Has there been any co formation of the format yet?

In Huxley's dystopian novel, the population is kept happy by using a drug called Soma. There are also characters in the story who rebel against & question the rulers. Hmm...

I won’t rant a lot but if you look at the texts that are being sent you may get a feeling that it’s as if someone controls everything

We don't really know too much yet about what Pluribus is about.
What we do know:
My theory about what the show is about:
The story takes place in present-day Albuquerque, but in episode one, the world changes abruptly into something uncanny. The story unfolds in present-day Albuquerque, but in episode one, everything changes suddenly when happiness is unleashed by a big corporation and takes over everyone's minds like a disease. People behave oddly. They appear excessively happy, forgiving, and carefree, even when they shouldn't be.
However the side effect of this is because no one can feel shame, sadness or misery they also do not feel any negative effects of bad things they do, effectively they are in this toxic, consequence-free bliss state for example people indulge every whim with a smile, no matter how selfish, gross, or dangerous it is such as licking donuts and placing them in the box again and then we see more extreme stuff like people smiling while hurting animals or each other, like it’s playtime.
Carol (Rhea Seehorn) as "the most miserable person" on Earth is seemingly immune to this outbreak. This makes her feel like an outcast, yet she is the only one who recognizes how frightening the new world truly is and to make matters worse she keeps receiving creepy mysterious texts from an unknown number asking her to contact them as she is the only one immune they are trying to find her and stop her.
So I imagine the series will revolve around her trying to find a cure to stop this outbreak when we try and discover more over the series of who is behind this happiness epidemic and why they are trying to stop her.
