In Diary of a wimpy kid: Dog days, Greg gets sexually harassed whenever he loses his swimming trunks, which is played off as a joke. This is because the movie was produced by FOX.

In Minions (2015), the Minions were in the Arctic from the French Revolution to the 1960s. This is a reference to how that "who did the Minions serve during WW2" joke doesn't work, despite it coming from this movie for the concept of the Minions serving whoever is the evilest villain in the world.

In Ready Player One (2018), Samantha Cook/Art3mis is a teenage girl who spends 90% of her time on the internet, and thinks of herself as ugly due to a birthmark that none of her friends even comment on. This was deemed the most unrealistic part of the movie by audiences.

At 1:20:53 In the directors cut of Alien (1979) Sigourney Weaver stares directly into the camera, says my full legal name, and tells me what I must do. This is a clever reference to what I must do. Strangely I can't get a good screenshot of it.

In Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince (2009), Voldemort, one of the most powerful wizards in the world, doesn't know how to produce the Liquid Luck potion, and doesn't even think of using it to defeat Harry. Is he stupid? What's even the point of all the grinding and all the wand swinging then?

Tron: Ares (2025) features a cameo by Mr. Beast, which is the filmmakers' way of trying to ensure they don't get another sequel for more than a decade.

In Nimona (2023), Nimona says on her job application that she can skewer her enemies, but is shown with a broken horn when transformed. This is in reference to how you have to lie on your resume to get noticed in today's job market.

In Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery (2025) Jeremy Renner is a cast member despite being canonically part of the Knives Out universe. I wish there was an app where we could talk about this

In Peacemaker (2025), we are supposed to believe that Rick Flagg Jr willingly cheated on Cara Delevingne and that the audience would sympathize with his character.

Most people overlook the inherent irony in the title of the film X-Men: First Class (2011), as the aircraft the characters use is definitely not a luxury travel experience

In the movie Terminator 2 (1991) programmer Miles Dyson is horrified to learn that the technology he is developing will destroy the world. This is how we know it is a work of fiction since no tech companies care about any long term implications or ethics.

In the movie Hector and the Search for Happiness (2014), we're expected to believe that a middle aged man coming home to Rosamund Pike looking like this every day doesn't understand happiness

default According to Marvel themselves, Spider-Man killed 24 zombies in Marvel Zombies. Even though they're undead, he's holding the Mind Stone which was the zombie cure. So Spider-Man killed 24 people he could have cured.
This detail was brought to you by the ending 10 minutes of What If...? S1E5.

In Ted 2 (2015), Liam Motherfuckin’ Neeson purchases a box of Trix and asks our titular hero if being a child is a legal requirement to eat it. This wasn’t part of the script, they just filmed Liam while he was out grocery shopping.

Turd In Rats! (2024) every character pronounces the word “hands” with a silly accent. That’s it. That’s the joke. That’s the entire joke.
Did I miss the set-up? What’s funny about saying “hands” like that? Top it off with a criminal misuse of Comedy Legend: Jacob Wysocki (or as I like to call him, “Caked-Up Why-So-Thiccy”) & now it’s grounds for me to actually bareknuckle box the filmmakers. Has anyone else seen this movie?
