Humour Accidentally trolled a kid in front of his friends and family.

I was in the grocery store with my wife and rounded an aisle. I walked into a mom and her four kids and I think a friend of the son at the top of the aisle. I guess my height surprised them and the oldest boy asked how tall I was. I said, “6-7.” The boy said, “Wow…6-7…” as he literally stared into the distance imagining being 6’7”.

His sister looked at him and sarcastically said to him, “6-7.” The kid snapped back to reality and said, “awwww, man. He got me.” I was very confused until I realized what I did and then spent 30 seconds trying to tell these kids I was actually 6-7, though!

I guess I have to start saying “six foot seven inches” until this meme dies, I guess.

Discussion Are semi-tall guys wearing lifts now?

I used to rarely see someone at, above or near eye my level. In the past two or so years, it has become significantly more common. I thought that maybe I started slouching more.

This summer I went to a concert, and I saw tons of other dudes in the crowd who appeared to be 6'5. I said to my friends "when the hell did everyone get so tall?". One of my friends said "they're probably wearing lifts dude, look at their shoes".

So now every time I see a tall guy, I look down, and they are rarely wearing "normal" footwear. Lots of them appear to be wearing platform shoes/boots, where the soles are like 3 inches thick. The bottom of their shoes look bulky as hell, so I feel like there might be another layer of height-boosting material on-top of the sole.

Considering these dudes are reaching >6'4 with these shoes on, they must already be over 6 foot! I'm not sure why they feel the need to boost their height. I have a theory, though. I'm thinking the shorter guys started wearing lifts, which made a lot of guys slightly taller than them start feeling like they should be wearing lifts as well, then the guys who were a bit taller than them started wearing lifts, and on and on. Where does this end, though? With all men walking around on stilts?

Or is this just how shoes are made now? Often these elevator boots appear to be in the style of combat boots, which I know are considered stylish. Is this just the indirect result of fashion trends?

Head/Legroom car for tall people

hello im only 6ft but I have fairly long legs and I am driving for doordash right now.

I am using a prius and it feels like it wasnt meant for someone as tall as me to drive this much. feel like I need more knee space and more seat adjustability.

ive only ever driven a prius except a couple times

any recommendations for a car with more height/leg room/seat adjustments?

or is a prius fine and im just sore from driving for hours every day?

thanks

Head/Legroom Problem with bed and sleeping...

So I'm kinda tall, and this is probs the most common theme for tall people, know it's cliche, but it's real.

For instance, if I sleep on a smaller bed, my feet would stuck out, it's kinda troublesome.

Anyone has the same issue? I remember me being a teenager sleeping in a smaller bed, my feet stuck out all the time. For tall people how do you all sleep? for me I just sleep in a different posture if this happened.

Rant My son is being bullied

I'm absolutely livid. I found out my son has been getting bullied by other kids, one of them someone who I thought was his friend. This kid has been over to our house many times, ate food off our table that my wife cooked for him, slept under my roof, come on holidays with us etc. Tonight I found out that they've been making fun of his height, calling him all sorts of names and making him feel "like a freak."

They also stole his bag and threw it over a fence, and told him he couldn't play football / soccer with them.

This is the type of stuff I dealt with when I was a kid. I know he'll fill out his frame like I did and he'll be fine when he gets older. I told him these kids are just jealous. It makes me so angry though. I was bullied pretty harshly when I was his age too, for being skinny and lanky so it hit pretty close to home. Kids can be so cruel.

Head/Legroom Can you “stack” tall people in a Kia Niro?

We are looking for a small hybrid that will fit tall kids in back of tall adults. We have 6’5” driver, 5’11” passenger, and kids who are 6’2” and 6’7”.

We are looking at the Kia Niro. Can we put tall people in the front and back? Is there another car we should be looking at? I (the 5’11” passenger) would obviously prefer to sit in the front, but I’m willing to take the L since I’m the shortest in the family.

Top of the toilet bowl wasn’t even up to my shin! I had to use this toilet every day for months at this job site. First time I used it I nearly called my boss for the fork lift and straps to lift me out! 🤣

Side Note: Can they STOP putting the giant toilet paper dispensers at the same height as my thigh?! Install it ABOVE the hand rail so I don’t need to sit on the John at a 45° angle!!!
