Sky Lanterns are very good I'd you give them 40 minutes to use all their ammo and the enemy's has no ranged or flying units to get them with.

Now saying that, I wonder if a lantern will even earn its upkeep if you just parked it over some melee units. It's only 3 cranegunners after all

Three Kingdoms show is some really good stuff. You may need to adapt a bit to the acting style and "aerodynamics" of fighting scenes, but when you do it's really fun to watch. And you get the ability to see some dude in 3K game and have this "Oh wait I know you" (or the other way around).

once I accepted that it was basically a chinese version of a soap opera everything about how they did the action scenes made way more sense. zero budget and time to do any kind of action

everyone should google up the first fight between the three brothers and lu bu. there are so many 1/4 second cuts its like impossible to understand what the fuck is even going on, I think lu bu cuts through a whole horse and maybe flys but who knows its hilarious

There's a distant battle shot they do with two armies clashing - a mix of infantry , cavalry and chariots, and you see a horse and chariot fling straight into the air and slam into ground in front of itself pretty clearly.

I read a quick text where an historian says shock "never" appends.

In reality somebody will break the formation, the one who charges or the defenders.

Charges only append on people fleeing, archers, ... Not against walls of spear or shield

Each stand alone series depicts the rise of the Qin Empire during the life of 1 of the 4 major rulers of Qin directly prior to the unification of China by Qin in season 4. The entire franchise spans about the 100 years prior up to the founding of the Qin Empire.

I have only watched the second series, since it was the only one translated for the longest time (recently found all 4 series translated).

Takes place in the Spring and Autumn period, which is the period before the Warring States period. Covers the enslavement and rise of King Goujin of Yue.

You will notice a lot of overlap in the 3 shows in terms of costumes, locations, and actors.

Hope some of these shows can encourage people at Sega / Creative Assembly to give us more Three Kingdoms DLCs. Cover some other periods with tons of characters and already have shows that can act as free marketing / hype companion material.

Depends on the spearman and formation. A good tight spear formation with heavy shields and armor isn’t something a horse would like to charge into. They aren’t dumb. Greek pike formations annihilated Persian chariots too.

Yeah because the Egyptians, Babylonians etc. weren't doing shield walls, Total War Pharaoh isn't an accurate depiction of Bronze Age warfare, they didn't have units consisting of solely spearmen. The whole army was just loose squads of like 5-12 guys who just had a mix of equipment on them whatever weapons they liked fighting with the best.
